Less about that, more about the fact that "today's youth" and the "current generation" doesn't understand "the concept of teamwork" and "the value of dedication" like the "old timers", and this is causing them to become "sissies" that the "greatest generation" would be ashamed of.

In all seriousness, this thread is hilarious. Full of 25+ year old's talking in a pseudo-scientific/objective way about comparing impatient children playing baseball to the men who fought in WWII and un-ironically indulging in their own puffed up sense of manliness and accountability while blaming the countries future on "those people". You know, the one's whose fault this all is.

We should complain about kid's music next guys. Anyone whose 40+ talk about how rap isn't real music. Anyone below 40, but above 30, talk about how rap has really lost its purity and how it was better when it was about the streets.

Average commute for my grandfather in 1912, 20 minutes; average commute for my son in 2012, 25 minutes;

Average number of guys talking about cats in 1972, 0; average number of guys talking about scoring pussy in 1972, 100%; Average number of guys that actually did, 4.

Number of places on the internet to waste time in 1982, 0.

I am a member of the Millennial Generation and this is my say on the matter:

1 - Yes younger generation is mostly a bunch of sissies. Although I have to say it is also regional. As one who spent time growing up in both the city and the suburbs, I'll say the city kids are definetely much tougher at least physically but also mentally, which brings me to my next point. ....

2 - I think older generation have a certain degree of mental toughness. What annoys about my peers is that everything seems like the end of the world at times.

3 - I also think younger generations lack critical thinking skills at times. Education is so focused on "the tests" that I don't know if critical thinking skills are being developed. I feel was fortunate enough to have some professors in college who's classes were more of crtitical thinking orientated.

4 - Now that being said I think despite lacking a certain "toughness" I don't think young people are the lazy entitled people that some make them out to be, at least not a majority. Today's economy calls for a post high school education and many young people work really hard to get it putting up with taking a great deal of debt to pay for the cost that previous generations did not have to deal with. For whatever reason prior to the 80s the cost of college was 80% publicly funded, and 20% tuition. Now it is reversed.

I also find the younger generation has much greater embrace for science and the facts. As well as much greater amount of social tolerance for those that are different.

I think every generation has their strengths and downfalls. I really hate how our politics try to pit one generation against the next as opposed to trying come together to make things better for everyone and sharing the sacrfices that need to be made as well.
