Did Tressel vote, or was it still a conflict of interest? Did someone have to 'wake' Bobby Bowden and JoePa to get them to vote?

i was thinking the same thing.i figure they had #3 thru 25 already and just did the 1 and 2 thing.
otherwise ohio state would have been about 5th after that game.:smilewink

Look at the coaches poll, they have Tennessee #23, and PSU #25.

Didn't PSU just beat the Vols? :banghead2

Virginia Tech is higher than us in the coaches? I guess losing to Georgia is worse than losing to LSU. And BYU ahead of is another joke, They lost to Arizona and another team that Notre Dame would've beat, we would've been 12-0 with that schedule, but i guess schedules don't matter anymore.

Yes but the Vols play in the SEC, "a tough conference". It doesn't matter if they played all those tough SEC teams, they're tough by association.

ND only played the #3,#4, #8, and #24th placed teams.

Boise should be 2. OSU should drop to 3 since they did get spanked. My lousy opinion.

Correct me if iam wrong, but Tenn played the national champion to within one point. Also air force played Tenn within one point. Lets not bicker and argue 'bout who played who, because it is a flawed argument. There is not true way to justify losses. They happen.

People are already saying that OSu had too long of a layoff and that the loss of Ginn during the game was what killed them. What ever, the game is over and FLorida won hands down. So much of a hands down win, i think it reminds me of another SEC team blowing up a #11 team, recently ,hmmmmm, who could that be?

2005 (9-3) ranked #9, #11
2006 (10-3) ranked #17, #19

Not really a step up.

These polls mean nothing except for that number one slot. Another thing is that once the college football world gears up again the pre-season polls will be out and the above polls won't mean jack squat.

I would've flip floped Ohio State and Boise State. Ohio State has no business droping down to just number two after that beating.

ND's ranking is about right, so really can't complain there. They will probably be ranked about the same or a bit lower come preseason next year.

Here's what I noticed: Penn State finished ranked.

So, there goes that nonsense about "Charlie Weis has never beaten a team that finished ranked!"

Well, there ya go. Charlie crushed a team that finished ranked: Penn State. QED, mutha.

Last years 9-3 was a helluva lot better than this years 10-3 - thats why the poll difference. A OT loss to MSU, game of the decade vs USC (who is still the best team Ive seen in 10 years) and a Fiesta Bowl loss that was still a game with 4 minutes left.

vs

47 -21 home rout vs Michigan, 44-24 snoozer vs USC, and 41-14 (27-0 from 3:00 left in 2nd quarter on) blowout in the Sugar.

ND was a better team last year and the polls properly reflect that.

the polls aren't about who is the better team, they are about who had the better season...

Tennessee had a better season than Penn State

why worry about it? BYU was a very good team this year. Our schedule wasn't that tough either.
