I've been doing Muay Thai on and off for about 6 years, and consistently (atleast 3 days per week) for the last 8/9 months. Anyone into any of that? Great workout, and useful for relieving stress, discipline and overall balance.

If so, please share any thoughts or tips. Also, if you know of anywhere to get quality training equipment offline, please let me know. Buying this crap gets expensive because it constantly needs to be replaced.

Muay Thai, BJJ.

I have a small fortune in training invested.

I realized some years back that my job is going to kill me unless i get a stress relief- and I wanted to show my kids a good example.

Muay Thai since 1998. BJJ on and off as well. I'm a much bigger fan of stand up being on the ground. But thats just me.

Yeah it does add up, but I absolutely love it. Honestly, I probably need it because Ive been stressed out a lot lately and without the training I'd probably snap.

Do you order your stuff offline?

Yeah I tried doing both 4/5 days a week, but it just started wearing me down. I lift thurs/fri/sat/sun with muay thai mon/tues/wed/fri. Ive lost some size, but its worth it.

I've been doing MT for the last 6 months out here in Singapore-expensive as all get out though. At least I get trained by Thais, which is nice.

Equipment-I buy it in Bangkok.

I go to a local MMA shop...its called OTM- and there is always great state of the art stuff. Most likely because where i live MMA is Huge! Since Jackson's MMA (have such fighters as Jon Bones Jones, Carlos Condit, GSP (at one Time), Diego Sanchez) is the big gym in town.

However when i go online i go here MMAWarehouse.com - MMA Gear, MMA Clothing, MMA Shorts, MMA Gloves, MMA Shirts and more!

Same here. Had half a mind to give it a go on the amateur circuit here, but apparently law firms frown upon showing up to work with a bruised/swollen face.

Studied Wing Chun for a number of years. Some things went on with my Sifu so I've been looking to get back into it.

Krav Maga in the house... Let's see y'all mess with these Isreali tactics...

As far as cost... Very little equipment on my end

I lived in Israel for 3 months, and Krav Maga is bad ***...however it is difficult to train since its for "keeps!" For those of you that dont know about Krav Maga...here you go...basic info. Krav Maga Association Of America Inc., Israeli Self Defense « Krav Maga Worldwideâ„¢ Get in shape. Go home safe.

I like how they train for real life situations....1 on 5 or your opponent has a knife or gun.

I thought long and hard about competing however, the reason i choose not to- is #1 what you said, I present to VPs (At Intel) all the time and I am sure having a black eye or missing tooth would not come across well...and #2 especially in BJJ, there are alot of guys that want to break your arm...even after a tap. So I don't think a broken arm or blown elbow is worth it.

Krav is sick. My gym hosts training in that as well, the teacher trained in isreal for a few summers. Hes nuts. Although, he did say that thai took his krav to a total different level! Im thinking about getting into krav as well

As for competing, Ive thought about it too, well see. Depends on how good I get, and if my job will allow it lol

Krav Maga is wonderful, theres a boot camp in Pa, that i attend every year... It's a great challenge for a guy my age.
