An Open Letter to the CFP Committee Chairman
Dear Hunter:
Please forgive the naivete of common fans of college football. They know not the power of bias and bigotry that have plagued Notre Dame’s history. Bigotry and corruption fuel our fire for Independence. I know Independence is a source of great hatred in the socialist world of higher education in general. We can find highest concentrations of vitriol in the most socialist institutions within our country’s borders – power conferences. Where Rutgers and Arkansas can feed at the same trough of Alabama and Ohio State. “From each according to their ability, to each according to their need.” While Karl Marx would be proud, I am thankful for how well your program illustrates the dangers of his ways.
It is not Notre Dame’s fault that your feral pigs were embarrassed 56-13 this season – a mirror image to your teams 56-14 win over in state, Sunbelt powerhouse Arkansas State. Coming off a 52-7 scrimmage with FCS Alabama A&M (1-7 in the SWAC this year), your faithful fans might have thought 0-8 in the SEC was impossible. Must have been frustrating to just miss on the road against another SEC CFP bid “earner” Ole Miss. I’m sure the 32-31 loss to Memphis was marked up as a let down after an SEC barn burner.
Then the Super Bowl came to town. Time to show those overrated Yankees how its done in the South! I’m not talking about making it to third base with your cousin, I’m talk SEC FOOTBAWL!! Fast forward three hours - you fired your coach before most of CFB kicked off that day. Did anti-Catholic bigotry fuel your impressive hissy fit that left your team coachless before the calendar had even turned to October? While it's been a minute since you lost by so much, you are no stranger to a thorough ass whoopin.
Within two weeks you had a first hand comparison of Ole Miss and Notre Dame. Rather than honestly share your first hand account, you repressed that traumatic memory. You pound the table on week 1 importance while ignoring ACC flop FSU’s romp of your precious Crimson Tide. ACC beating SEC is such an evasive memory. Kentucky didn’t lose 41-0 to Louisville! Georgia Tech didn’t play Georgia better than 90% of the SEC! Clemson didn’t smoke South Carolina! Impossible, on paper the SEC beats everyone! Especially that weakest conference whose champion couldn’t out rank James Madison and Tulane. But the SEC “deserves” five spots at the table. BYU, Notre Dame and Miami can all take a back seat despite anyone with half a brain seeing those three with better chances of winning than obviously flawed Oklahoma or Alabama.
Remember challenging Bama to rush the ball better? Yeah me too. That is how the entire world knows you are a complete fraud. Negative three yards rushing. Every human on the planet out rushed The Alabama Crimson Tide last week. After you said they need to do better. Jeremiah Love had more rushing yards against FBS opponents than the entire Alabama football team. He rushed for 18 touchdowns in 12 games vs FBS opponents. Alabama rushed for 12 and Oklahoma 17. You denied fans the most dynamic player in CFB to bring a couple more bucks to Arkansas via socialism.
Seeing Notre Dame earn all of those CFP dollars last year must have been hard for the SEC bottom feeders. Good job lining up three home playoff games, you will never experience how much that brings in for your successful brothers. SEC taking 3/4ths of the hosting spots and lining up favorable Tulane for rudderless Ole Miss. Having the two weakest in Bama and Oklahoma play each other to ensure a win. Ole Miss playing into Georgia to ensure an SEC semifinalist. You have all but guaranteed 3 SEC wins and a lot of money to yourself and your conference. Brilliant getting that ND lover to recuse himself and shut up while you pretended you did not have a direct conflict of interest.
Honestly, bless your heart. You know your place. All the real ADs probably treat you nice to your face. It’s OK if they accidently CC you when they say what they really think. At least you get invited to some cool luxury boxes and fancy soirees to pretend you are one of them! Stockholm Syndrome can afflict even those of average intelligence, you really didn’t stand a chance if we are being honest.
Let me finish with one word that all parasitic schools like yours fear the most. A word based in meritocracy and accountability. A word that would save college football AND enrich your media overlords at the same time. A word true fans of sports long for and self-important blow hard bureaucrats despise.
Relegation
P.S. – I’ll try to keep it monosyllabic next time.
