Tough year for Atkins making the all-Rookie team. A lot of great freshmen play in the Big East this season. If Ben was the only unanimous 1st Team selection then that has to help his chances for POY. That award is announced on Tuesday.

We always wish for more than we get, but I can't help giving a shout out for two underrated super players who hold us together game after game: Tyrone Nash and Carleton Scott. I'll take those two on my team any day. And, Nash should really have made a third team, if "we" weren't so blindedly in love with "points-per-game" as the only criterion for rewards.

Agreed.

Carleton does get a decent amount of praise from analysts.

However, Tyron is so underrated. Nobody outside of ND's circle gives him praise. Next season we'll miss Ty Nash almost as much as Ben Hansbrough.

Ty is the key piece to this team.

What I like most about Nash is his ablilty to handle the ball, and at one point toward the end of the UConn game I seen him call a few plays as if he was running the PG position. That is a nice quality to have, a "center" being able to handle the ball so far from the basket, it forces the other true centers on the other team away from the basket. Which opens up many more options.
