I've had some time to reflect on the game as well as time to speak to some of my friends that follow other schools. That being said, it's time for Air Force to go from our schedule and never return.

The main reason why I hope Air Force is dropped is their blocking schemes. They utilize the cut block and they will hit you regardless of how you're positioned: front, back, sideways... and that only leads to injuries.

There were a couple replays that I saw where an OL chopped Landri when his back was turned to the play and one where Ryan also was turned to the play. I believe in the Tennessee game, two players were injured and lost for the year.

It's just an unnecessary risk to take in my opinion. I'd like to see the Irish schedule an additional game against a Big East or Big Twelve school... whatever, but let's get Air Force off our schedule!

100% agree, I cringed at numerous replays where you could see guys getting chopped from the side.

Shhh we're not allowed to point out that a service academy team is classless. Or that its coach is racist.

There are a lot of reasons to cancel Air Force. We should definitely add a Big 12 or SEC school to the sched in place. We never play those conferences.

As you know Svo, I missed the game... were there any calls for illegal blocks in the back or anything of that nature... sounds like scary stuff... when you get any team that plays sideline to sideline the way AF tends to with the pull blocks in full effect the injury/fatigue question is always an issue... and seeing how AF is not exactly USC we should drop them.. what do we have to lose aside from defensive starters??

Chop blocking should be illegal period. There is too much of a risk of guys getting hurt.

It is, but for some reason they weren't calling it....not sure if this was meant to 'level the playing field', or what. I don't see nearly as much of this from either Navy or Air Force.
