They forgot the Oregon approach: just play one half of football.

Note their use of ND as an example along with ASU and Fresno State.

What about growing your grass long to slow down their fast guys? What about on every SC snap, we send a pack of rabid dogs after whoever has the ball? What about tipping the stadium to make them play uphill?

Or best of all, why don't we have the Mighty Ducks play them again. THEY WERE WINNING AT HALFTIME? THEY WILL KICK USC'S A$$!!!!

All Oregon banter aside, I think UCLA has a chance in this game but it will take by far and away their best effort of the year.

Their defense is shaky, but that Bruin O can score on SC. USC special teams have been a major weakness for them all year, so if UCLA can get some points up...this might be a good game.

But SC is going to score. They always do. Their low for the year....you guessed it. 34 against ND. And that was in 21 minutes of possession.

This was a close game last year. The X factor for me is Maurice Drew. He is the fastest player in this game, including Reggie Bush. If Drew can make plays, the Bruins have a shot.

I'd like to see SC lose and see how things shake down. I don't think it effects ND as much as it would Ohio State.

As explosive as that UCLA offense can be, their defense is a major problem. They've given up a lot of yards and points to the good offenses they've played this year, so without an excellent gameplan (a la Weis) and near-perfect execution I think USC and their great offense wins.

Which brings me to my question. A lot of people point to USC's weak defense, but jigga points to USC's weak special teams which is a very good point (cue Zibby touchdown clip). Assuming USC beats UCLA, is there anyone out there who's seen enough of Texas to comment on their special teams? Do they have the personnel to score points or win the field position battle with special teams?

That Ohio State game was too long ago for me to remember, and Texas' performance against A&M was not a good indication of what they seem capable of.

Gizmo, I've seen Texas play Ohio State, Baylor, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State on tape.

The thing that worries me is that I don't find them to be much better than last year's Sooner unit that SC crushed. But SC doesn't have the same defense from last year.

I think Texas has the best defensive unit that SC will have seen all year, being that the Trojans play in the Pac 10 and see better D during the week in practice. And Texas has Vince Young and a running game.

Texas can beat SC because they can run the ball and have defensive players better than what SC has seen. Thus, it will come down to execution and turnovers. If Texas turns it over, gives up big plays and looks like they did against the Aggies, they're dead.

But I expect them to come out tomorrow and give the Wild Wings a severe beating.

Let's see how UCLA did:

1. Stop the run. No, no and NO.

2. Score in the third quarter. ZERO ( 0 ) points.

3. Avoid costly turnovers. Oops. 3 fumbles lost.

Thank you for playing. Enjoy basketball season, Bruins.
