He doesn't look as stiff this year. He sort of just lumbered around the field as a sophomore.

If he is the clear #2 RB for the '27 class, I wouldn't be too upset. Do I think there are better options? Yes.

I agree with some that I was NOT impressed at all with his soph film. If he has good Jr film out i'll take a look. Either way, if we land himi sure hope he is our 2nd RB for this class.

Edit - Here's JR film against Millbrook (a good team). He's just not that good. Can't outrun a defender, can't make a defender miss, can't break tackles. I just don't see it. He's got size and some power. I don't see cutting ability or vision. His oline isn't that great. When he has a huge hole, he's big and tough to tackle.

Another film clip.

Offer list speaks for itself, and all those schools offered after his sophomore year.

In seven games he has rushed for 802 yards and 11 touchdowns for an average of 7.9 yards a carry. He also has a receiving TD. The production and the offers look very good.
Until you dive deeper and see that 40% of that production was in one game

His team is really bad. I was watching last night. Constantly hit by multiple defenders behind the Los. Every outside run blown up or strung out.

I couldn't even get a read on how good he is.

Those are the facts he's the perfect example of an average back with decent size but no special effects. He had one huge game a couple of weeks ago vs a bad Broughton team, but before that game his numbers were 413yds on 75 carries and 5 TDs. I say at ND we should aim to land a top 5 back and pair with him another top 15-20 back at worst, I've seen about 12-13 backs better than Brown in NC alone and definitely wouldn't have him in the top 25 backs nationally.

Yep. You, @maxwell , and @Rocketman84 are not alone. If we land this kid, I'll hope to see something at ND that I'm not seeing on film.

Someone should forward the above analysis to OSU, UGA, Michigan, Texas, Miami, FSU, Tennessee, and Oregon so they can rescind their offers.

Sam Young, Aaron Lynch, Ishaq Williams, Dayne Crist, Mark LeVoir, Gunner Kiel, James Alridge, Max Redield, Tommy Kraemer, Duval Kamara, Jordan Johnson, Cory Mays, Brandon Wimbush, Demetrius Jones: The greatest players in ND football history.

Notre Dame All Time Football Recruits

I do realize an offer list is different than a recruiting ranking. Comparing offer lists just takes a lot more work. We do know, however, that there are countless (and I do mean countless) kids that top programs have whiffed on in a big way, whether by overrating them or underrating them.

Maybe it's okay to exercise our own eyeballs once in a while and talk about what we do or don't notice.

Sam Young played 10 years in the league. Mark Levoir played 6, Corey Mays 5, and Tommy Kraemer 4. Now if you want to include Anthony Vernaglia, Mike McNair, and Justin Brent, then be my guest.

Exercising the eyeballs might be too strenuous for some ppl, they can always just look at who offered regardless of how they look on the field. The blind leading the blind I suppose

To be fair, the only good program besides ND that offered Daniel Anderson was Tennessee, and I highly doubt that offer was committable in October of 2023.

Yea he got offers after a good Soph season but not ND good he was in a platoon of backs and had like 70+ carries for 800yds against weak competition. It was just bad from the start with that one.

You guys are saying you don’t want a player who doesn’t want to visit when it’s raining??? That just seems silly to me.

We can agree to disagree. I’ll be at the game, so I for one am not stressed about the weather
Is this satire?

Per On3, Nebraska seems to be trending here. Reading between the lines I’m not sure he has the green light

I got the hint here too no green light, they might seem happy with Spell and then getting someone higher ranked than Brown

It's hard for me to take any Jr in a high school's commitment/CB/Prediction too serious right now. Especially, if they continue to go on visits. With NIL in play now these dudes are so impressionable and feelings can flip on a snap of a finger.
