It was also shoehorned in that his other choice besides ND and Va Tech was Texas. Even though from what I can see he never visited Texas, instead visiting MSU and Missouri.

Respect the hustle.

What was the story here actually? Did we drop him or did he drop us?

I do not think we sought out dropping him. He started looking, so we said go ahead then.

The real question would be were we prepared to have a 3 person LB class or not?

Honestly in the era of player shopping, does it really matter that much? I didnt see a starter here, more of a depth and ST player. As much as we would like to have the recruiting hit on all cylinders, NIL more than makes up for it in the offseason with proven and developed players.

I think he’ll be a solid college player. The skillset is there. Doesn’t have every physical attribute that you’d want but he’s got game. He’s been very well coached at IMG.
He'll probably be in the 2 deep at a shit-tastic place like VT, but he's probably close to maxed out development wise.

If ND thought he was worth fighting for, they would have fought for him. Its also very possible he knew he was a contingency option (like his brother) and wanted to be the guy at a smaller school that would pay him more.

I actually like the kid’s tape, but if ND only wanted two linebackers this cycle and they end up finishing with Igwebuike and Henderson, I’m glad the kid decided to leave the class. Wish him the best at Va Tech. I would much rather have Igwebuike and Henderson as a two man class.
