I want to see this kid in person. I have not heard his name mentioned before locally.

247 has this kid as a composite 5 star, but none of ESPN, 247 or Rivals have him as a 5 star player. How do they come up with the composite ranking? By the way, they all have the kid as a top 40 player.

I don't know if anyone fully understands how they calculate things.

For the composite, they average the ratings across all sites. Kid with the best average would be assigned a composite rating of 1.000 IF they were the top average AND they were the consensus #1 recruit across all platforms. Quinn Ewers appears to be the last recruit that was consensus number 1. There are minor deductions from the 1.000 ranking for the top recruit depending on how close they were to being consensus.

For the composite, there appears to be a 5 star cutoff around a composite score of 0.9833

247 (and I'm assuming the others as well) are stingy with the 5 star label for their own rankings (not composite) until later on in the recruiting process. Right now there are only nine 5 stars on 247. Closer to signing day, that number will always be 32.

So there could be quite a few recruits that aren't labeled a 5 star on any platform (yet), but they have one of the top averages and thus are christened a composite 5 star because there composite ranking is above that 0.9833 score.

Sounds like we did a good job. But not rushing to make another commitment. Per ISD

A free isd article made it come across that he essentially shut it down once he committed to Penn State
Well thinking back I believe it was because of how early the commitment was from him. Didn't he commit over a year ago as a Soph?
