Hopefully he plays but gonna be hard to see the field with what’s ahead of him. I woulda
thought Burress would have played more considering he had a good camp. I’m also surprised Micah Gilbert and Cam Williams have stuck around.

Kaydon Finley / Elijah Burress could be a nasty complimentary combo in the coming years... If they ever get a chance to play meaningful minutes with what they have in front of them!

The ND WR room's depth chart has changed tremendously.

I am very high on Finley, but I highly doubt he plays much other than in garbage time this year.

IDK, some of his workout film he looks like a pro. I wouldn’t be surprised.

Well if it's you vs. "some at ND", I'll take the latter.

There's no harm in being excited by what some staffers think about the early returns of one of their signees (even if he's not a starter at any point next season).

Also, we rarely get reports about EEs being 'legit' unless it comes to fruition (often times early in their careers).

We hear "some at ND" multiple times every year and very few true freshmen make an impact. Lets look at just the '25 class. We heard the same thing about Burgess, N. James, and Burress. None of them were impactful at all outside of garbage time

You really think Finley will get much PT with these people ahead of him:
B: Porter, Gilbert
S: Greathouse, Graham
F: Faison, C. Williams, Burress

I would put big money on Finley not cracking the 2 deep at WR. Again, I am high on him, but not for the 2026 season.

The boundary position has a total of 13 career catches for 152 yards. Both guys are expected to do great things but it's not like it's out of the realm of possibility that Finley passes at least one of them.

I think the WR competition is wide open and Finley probably couldn't find a better playoff-caliber program to earn snaps given the lack of returning production. Greathouse has been injured but solid. Faison has been really good. That's it in terms of true production. I know Gilbert has had some plays, so has Burress and Cam.

If we're just betting on the odds, I'm with you. It's unlikely because we usually only see 2-4 freshmen become contributors and rarely do they become starters unless they are exceptional. But if the bet is on cracking the 2-deep, meaning he's at least #6 by end of season....that is much more difficult proposition. Especially if the odds are high enough to be a driver.

I'm not actually arguing, I'm bored & excited by any early info we can get.
