ND likely the destination for PSU’s highest rated commit if 1) he flips and 2) ND has room. ND has remained in contact.

Could be visiting soon as we are pushing

The “if he flips” I don’t think is an inevitability how it is with some of their class. He actually loves PSU and as broke as PSU NIL is, a serious program would surely up their NIL investment in this time for retainment.

Unironically he’s a step down from our 2 safety commits…and he’s their best commit.

Why would Dia flip? He has a chance to start next year after he beats out Uncle Rico.

Is this a bit? Or do you actually constantly think about switching kids’ positions they were recruited to come here and play?

I’m leaning toward the former at this point
Ethan Thomas, Blair, Pouncey, O’Brien and Sieg at safety is way too much. You got two spots for 5 guys. Also O’Brien was told he would get a shot playing both ways if he wants

The way I understand it is some prospects are recruited broadly as a DB whereas others are being recruited specifically as CB's, S's and/or Nickel's. O'Brien is a freakshow who going to get a shot at everything, he really is special case that they will want to get on the field any which way they can. Pouncey is one of those guys that they recruited as a DB who at the time of his recruitment will get his shot at CB first. However some have said at S his game is quite similar to Tae Tae.

IMO Ethan Long was recruited as a S and may stay there but I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up a LB either.

Cree Thomas long term position is TBD, as easily as he could be as a CB he could also be a S or Nickel, though Nickel seems unlikely.

As for Sieg, it would be a great get the kid is very good, extremely good just not a freak like O' Brian. He's more in the Adon Shuler mold.

In a theoretical world where nobody goes pro early or transfers, our 2026 RBs (who rarely get on the field 2 or 3 at a time) would include Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price, Aneyas Williams, Kedren Young, Nolan James, Javian Osborne, Jonaz Walton, as well as Gi'Bran Payne, if desired, with Kemon Spell conceivably waiting in the wings. I'm okay with that. I'm not going to complain about too much talent, and the numbers will sort themselves out.

ND has recruited DB like they are building a three safety team, not a Nickel corner.

Someone as versatile as JOB is so much more valuable when you have the ability to move him around the field, too.

Paraphrasing Greg from ISD, imagine how good Kyle Hamilton would've been if they could have used him in the slot like the Ravens did last year, instead of being the only guy who could play deep middle

I see that O'brien, Adams, Pouncey are all guys who can move around pretty freely.

The entire secondary has a ton of flexibility. I would say Adams and Smith are locked in at CB. Other guys offer flexibility at Safety, CB, and WR
That's how I see it as well, though I think Pouncey gets even more of a look at CB if ND is able to flip Sieg.
