Need more in the middle in case someone doesn’t pan out
I can agree with this.

I think the staff were looking at Umeh for a bit, but they cooled off as soon as they came to the realization that Bryce Young is going to get HUGE. I think they are content with the 4 they have and are simply going to look at some late risers during the fall and I think then, they'll try to nab a 5th guy. Either that or perhaps ND has a huge year and a highly ranked player shakes loose and wants to come aboard. I wouldn't count on it, but at this point, they are just looking for the cherry on top.

I’m including him…I’m not high on the interior of our 2023 dl class
Why?

Houstan looks like a very impressive NT. Already 6'4 290 before his freshman season.

Vernon, Traore and Mukam all have the frame and capability to play inside, and my guess is that 2 will end up at DT.

I wouldn't read too much into their listed weights on the ND site. They clearly haven't updated them. One of the things I know a lot of the beat are going to first mention when camp opens up is "There is no way in hell Armel Mukam is just 250." I'd imagine the same for Vernon and potentially Traore.

Okay, but is he a gap closer?
I dunno. Let's ask your mom.

One insider mentioned a few weeks back that Mukam is up to 265.

Sounds about right.

Ford was 269 going into fall camp. He was 295 in spring and I imagine he'll be around that point in the fall.

These 3 guys have massive frames, so even if they're still in the 260's their freshman year, it won't take them long at all to get into the 285-295 range.

I think houstan has a ways to go transforming his body, I think a lot of the players are low floor with good potential projects that are tough to project to a specific position.
