This post, didn't age well - lol
The whole statement was based on an if. I obviously didn't predict it and for the record, I've typed DEL in the pejorative more times than anyone on this board.

But...

I think we'd all agree he did a very good job developing Boykin & Claypool. Plus he did a great job all things considered making Finke a plus contributor, finally got McKinley out of BK's doghouse and converted Avery Davis into a serviceable WR.

I think we'll also agree that his WR's were elite in blocking for a squad that was leaning on Adams, Dex & Kryren.

Now... His recruiting was a mess... much like QB and even OL recruiting (2020) of the era so maybe it's more than just him??????????????????

But what IF Kevin Austin, Jordan Johnson, Lo Styles and Merriweather woulda lived up to their rankings? What if Colzie does this year? Or JT goes off this year? What if he was part of a recruiting organization that didn't allow recruiting classes of 1 WR = 2020 (Merriweather) or 2019 = 1 WR (KAR) after you subtract Cam Hart which leads to a related fact that Del also landed X Watts.

As far a HH... we've all gone over it 100x's... besides Q, McG, 3* Sam Mustipher, TK, Banks, Hainsey, who he rode to 6 years of success along with inherited guys like the Martins and Stanley, he wasn't earning his check recruiting. Then, let's not forget he left ND with the 2018 & '19 classes besides the last second addition of Patterson by Polian & Quinn.

In closing: That something that smelled rotten in Denmark was BK, Rees Sr and the DII recruiting machine he drug out of Grand Rapids, MI.
