I have no idea what we want.

If OSU loses, our schedule and loss take a hit, but then there’s a greater shot that the Big 10 cannibalizes itself.

Let’s just enjoy the games!

Not necessarily. We want as much chaos as possible. It's very possible they could lose at least 2 games this season if they lose today
No - we want our only loss to be the best possible team. Chaos doesn’t help us. Winning out and OSU winning out does.

Sorry, no way I’m rooting for OSU to win, especially with Urban there watching. Screw our SOS.

OSU winning out helps us. That doesn’t mean OSU winning out is the only thing that helps us. A lot can happen where an OSU loss right now benefits us.

Easy example - let’s say the B1G West winner (probably an eventual 2-loss Wiscy or Iowa) beats the B1G East winner in the conf championship. If that’s an undefeated OSU, OSU still gets the nod over us. If it’s a 1-loss OSU which turns into a 2-loss, it’s up for discussion and we probably get the nod.

Idk what will happen, but chaos could absolutely help us - we would need some help at 11-1. Let’s not pretend it’s so clear cut.

It seems like Ohio State does this every year
So if LSU craps the bed yet again does that mean you spend more time on IE or do you go away all together???

It’s weird having an avowed primary LSU fan posting on an ND site during an LSU game. It’s like you are an LSU orphan.

The rest of football having losses except OSU helps us the most. But we need OSU to win.

Yup agree, our best shot at the playoffs is for us and OSU to win out.

It's still so hard cheering for the buckeyes, especially against a very likable Maryland teams
Agreed. It’s a pretty easy concept to understand.

Our best shot was not to lose to them. It’s proving that our offense was a fraud and put up good numbers against trash teams.

This is a good team but we still have a ways to go.

We’ll agree to disagree. I just pointed to an exact example where an OSU loss right now helps us. There are plenty others. I don’t think the slight dip in quality of loss outweighs all of the scenarios where we could be kicking ourselves later because OSU could have lost one more.

I get your point, but I have a hard time seeing an 11-1 ND get in over any one-loss conference champ. I think we need as many top 10 teams to lose 2 games as possible, no matter who

Plus I'm not rooting for Ryan Day

It's annoying how some people are so sure of themselves when it's far from factual. It's very hard to say if an Ohio State loss is good or bad at this point in the season

Alluded to this in a previous comment - the B1G West winner will probably be a 2-loss team, and no matter what happens, we will all probably be cheering for them in the conference championship.

I’d much rather be rooting for them against a 1-loss B1G East team than an undefeated team (OSU, Michigan, etc) who still gets the nod over us even with a loss.

Sorry if it annoys you but It’s pretty simple / strength of schedule is a big input. If you care about our CFP prospects you want OSU and ND to win out.

ND isn’t ready for a CFP game. Best case scenario is to win out and barely miss the playoffs and win a winnable bowl game and not get embarrassed. Recruit well and take that momentum into next season.

Well, if the coaching staff can actually put 11 players on the field, we might be a football playoff team. That was a problematic error and I’m sure it affected the morale of the team.

They came out flat against duke probably because of how ridiculous they lost that OSU game.

I dont think they came out flat. I just think that’s how good they are… or aren’t 🤷‍♂️
