Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman from BC both declared for the draft. Almost feel sorry for BC (almost), as with them they'd probably be a tournament team next year. Without them, they may be battling Pitt in the cellar of the ACC standings.

Here is a nice list of ACC Players so far that have decided to enter the draft in some capacity (with and without agent).

I'm assuming Wendell Carter leaves Duke, not sure about Trent. If Trent leaves, I understand that Duke has #1,2,3 recruits coming in, but they are all around 6'5, and I don't think any are as impactful as Carter and not anywhere near Bagley. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out next year.

Brey got contract extension through 2024-2025. 7 more seasons of the loosest coach. I can’t see him going anywhere after that anyways

I can tell it's a scrimmage, because Djogo is making his 3 point shots.

That might not even need to be in italics.

The freshman can defiantly shot the ball and they are defiantly going to get some playing time this year and probably a lot of it. Durham is gonna be a beast rim protector and rebounder. If he can get his offensive game better he could be a real threat every game.

Excited to see what this team looks like after the foreign trip and going into the fall season. Gotta lot of work to do and I think they could surprise some people if they can put the pieces together.

Also really glad to hear that burns is looking better this year. He could be a force down low. He’s a tank!

We interrupt your Notre Dame football reading for Irish hoops, which had an hour-plus open practice today. Mike Brey said it best: "We've never had to rely on this many freshmen in my 19 years here."

That reality will have its down moments, but the group can shoot it. Big time.
— Pete Sampson (@PeteSampson_) August 5, 2018

And that should only be enhanced on Sept. 1 when Prentiss Hubb is medically cleared (ACL). It won't be a surprise if he starts at some point this year. With Robby Carmody, Dane Goodwin and Nate Laszewski all higher-end shooters, it's a very Brey-esque group in skill set.
— Pete Sampson (@PeteSampson_) August 5, 2018

First look at Juwan Durham today too, the 6-foot-11 transfer from UConn. Still finding his way within the offense, but if his role is simply to rim protect and get rebounds, there's a lot of value there.

Most improved is forward Elijah Burns, by a wide margin. At the end of last season it was a question if he'd transfer. Now he's got a chance to be 20-minute junkyard in the front court. Brey joked that Burns was a wanted man at Culver, meaning with football. He's that thick.
— Pete Sampson (@PeteSampson_) August 5, 2018

Sunday's practice precedes Notre Dame's week-long trip to the Bahamas. Should be a valuable three-game visit. Beyond TJ Gibbs and Rex Pflueger, almost every role feels open. Regardless, this roster feels more typical Brey than last year. Cavs sign Colson to the 20 man training camp roster

From what I can tell, has a pretty decent shot at making the team as the training camp roster is a bit guard heavy.

Cavs waived Colson a couple of days ago.

Maybe I haven't been following the Notre Dame basketball team as long as most, but I can't remember a time where our offense has looked so bad.

Gibbs, Rex, DJ and even Hubb are just ball stoppers.

I remember the possession in the ACC Tourney championship where we passed it completely around the perimeter for a Vasturia 3 in the corner. No dribbles, wide open man after we got them chasing.

Now, each guy has to dribble 7-10 times before a pass. It's frustrating to watch.

Agreed, it's painful to watch.

On a side note, I wonder what Gibbs shooting percentage is trying to drive to the hoop.

He rarely is able to finish if he takes any contact whatsoever, and he is rarely able to draw a foul either.

Haha, good lord I'm a dolt.

I actually thought how little posting was happening in the basketball thread considering that still, on the last page, were posts about Bonzie and the draft. Was wondering why more people weren't posting about the game tonight.
