It shouldn't change. If the committee watched the game. It should go up. Officiating should be arrestable at times
I agree.. but 18pts.... officiating didn't contribute 18. Maybe 9-10 lol
Sorry, but that game was closer than the final score showed.
What that game showed was one team was fully rested while the other was playing it's third game in the same number of days.
Welcome to the NIT.
Serious question: Would you rather win the NIT or win only one game in the tourney?
NIT would be my choice.
Would choose staying home but I don't think we can if invited.
We were also playing in our third straight game against a t am that hasn’t played in almost a week. It was bound to happen that we were gonna run out of gas. And the way they were hitting shots no way we could have won.
They also got some really lucky bounces
Was speaking to the refs impact.
You don’t have to accept the NIT invitation. The 2013-2014 season when we had a losing record we got invited and brey didn’t want to play in it.
I honestly don’t know what I would rather have. I’m torn
I would really like to see them in the tourney tho and see them get an upset cause that would be cool
Oh miss read it. Your saying the refs gave them 9-10 pts. Gotcha and ya that was definitely true
The NCAA, which oversees the NIT, distributes contracts to potential NIT entrants starting in late January.
Automatically voided if any such team manages to secure an NCAA tournament bid, the contract binds the program to accepting an NIT bid if offered, according to David Worlock, NCAA director of media coordination/statistics.
Worlock said teams may decline to sign the contract and still participate in the NIT should they later signal their interest, and that the contract is designed, in part, to ensure teams who sign it don’t decline NIT participation in favor of another non-NCAA postseason tournament. But signing the contract obliges participation, if selected.
Looking at the bubble outcome I just posted, I'd say our narrative is:
1. We were without Bonzie for 15 games. He's back and we're competitive.
2. We played 3 games in 3 days, and ran out of gas vs Duke
3. We're lacking Quad 1 wins, but were minus Bonzie during the opportunity for most of those wins.
4. We've had some bad losses even with Bonzie. But so did others...
We are the epitome of a bubble team right now. We're going to have to hope the committee looks long and hard and gives us grace for injuries and assume a lot of things. Also we're gong to need them to prioritize how teams currently are trending (like OK).
Are we one of the best 68 teams with Bonzie back, absolutely. Is our body of work enough given the injuries, IDK. Is it fair to penalize other teams with a slightly better body of work over their current trend or because they stayed healthier, IDK.
Sunday Sunday Sunday!!

So you can decline the invitation. Obviously brey would accept it this year
This might be the hardest year the committee has ever had. We are probably the most curious case possibly ever. With the injuries, a couple bad losses then bonzie coming back and now we look like we did when we won the Maui tournament.
I’m so scared that the ball st and IU losses are gonna haunt us come Sunday. I wish they wouldn’t since there was a bunch of top 25 teams that lost to bad teams at home.
IDK if I’m gonna be able to sleep the next couple nights
I just fear that the Committee will refuse to open "Pandora's box" of trying to decide what injuries and how many games missed by injury is worthy of overriding the data.
They do it for Notre Dame this year with Bonzie missing 15 games, they will be face a gauntlet of future situations where some teams star missed 12 games or 10 games. I fear they will take the easy way out.
That was an impressive late-season run by Bonzie Colson and Notre Dame, but it appears it won't be enough to earn an at-large bid. Even after beating Virginia Tech on Wednesday, the Fighting Irish are on the outside looking in at the field of 68.
Then again, maybe the committee will make a special exemption for a team that was missing a potential national player of the year for the balance of the conference season. It appears it will indeed be necessary. Teams as varied as Alabama, Providence and UCLA were simultaneously improving their respective positions, and spots in the field are limited. This profile would usually fall short, but we'll have to see if the committee recognizes a Bonzie Factor.
