2015 NCAA Hockey Tournament

I know ND didn't make it, but my University of Omaha Mavericks are the #2 seed in the South Bend regional next weekend. I'll be making the trip out there, and look forward to being in the Bend again!

Anyone else looking forward to this years tournament despite the lack of Notre Dame in the field?

I like UMD, but I hate the generic mascot. Couldn't they have come up with something more unique and related to the region? Lakemen, oresmen, zenith warriors, tankers, rangers----just some ideas off the top of my head. But no, bulldogs it is. Only worse mascot is the wildcat.

We did have a second mascot at one point called the Maroon Loon. I preferred that one.

That's a lot better. Why switch? I hate that pro teams that moved out of state took two of the best mn mascots---Lakers and North Stars. That new soccer team is being branded well though.

Wow. What an unbelieveable weekend. First tourney win in school history, followed up the very next night by punching our first ticket ever to the Frozen Four
