Del Alexander finally started following him this month after he got the Michigan offer. Surprised the staff didn't get him on campus for one of the Elite Skills camps. Been high on my Fit List since the winter after a very productive season. Also wish he ran track or attended an opening event this year. Not sure how fast he is because his speed doesn't pop on his Soph film.

Odd that no one is talking him up. I saw an Allen Trieu story that was behind the paywall and that was it. Gonna have to dig deeper w/ the googlemachine.

Posted a 60/970/14TD season in '17.

Scecina Memorial HS...............Named after Father Thomas Scecina a war hero.

On October 5,1939 Fr. Thomas Scecina enlisted in the Chaplains' Reserve Corps. Eventually he was assigned to the 57th Infantry Division at Fort McKinley on Luzon in the Philippine Islands. He participated in the infamous Bataan "Death March" after the Americans had been captured by the Japanese in April, 1942. Following two years of imprisonment he freely elected to accompany the men when they were transportedby the Japanese from Manila to Formosa on October 1, 1944. Father Tom was in the first convoy which was mistakenly torpedoed by a U.S. Navy submarine onOctober 24, 1944. While the ship, Arisan Maru sank slowly beneath the water, Fr. Tom gave general absolution to all the men, then heard confessions over a three-hour period until the ship was completely submerged. At the age of 34, Fr. Thomas Scecina went to his death with his men that day.

Scecina, small school in smallest classification. Usually will play one or two games against bigger schools and make a good run in the tournament, but overall their comp isn't the best. Two of my sisters attended Scecina and I can still sing their fight song. lol

My parents wanted me to go to Scecina, but I wanted to go to Warren where all my friends were. I had to talk to them until I was blue in the face before I wore them down. lol

In terms of football performance, Roncalli doesn't belong this year. What a drop off from them.

I don't disagree with that at all. What a poor excuse of a football team they've displayed this year. That is why you go to two high schools....when one is doing bad, just jump on the other bandwagon LOL...

I still hold that against you! lol

8-1 ranked #2 in 2A and should be #1 as their only loss came to Roncalli who is three classes larger than of them. Kick off Sectionals tonight against Centerville. I don't think Scecina has won state since like '91 or '92....

#2 SMHS beats #4 Triton Central on the road to advance to Regionals - 34 to 30. Two teams played earlier in the year in Indy with the Scecina pitching a shut out.

Triton was up 21 to 6 after the first quarter. A whole lot of Scecina Q's 2, 3 and 4.

Next week the biggest 2A match up possible - #1 Western Boone vs. #2 Scecina. SMHS was #1 until they lost to a 5A school which is complete BS. I don't think WeBo has ever played a 5A school ever.

Should be fun...
