I never thought Weis would do this, but now it's sounding like a real possibility. Last night Mike Frank confirmed that Weis went to visit Rich Rodriguez of West Virginia and they probably did exchange ideas with each other. Then I read this article today and it leads me to beleive that you could see a DJ and Sharpley/Clausen rotation of 2 guys this upcoming season.

I don't believe this will happen. I could only see CW doing it in certain situations.

I would not believe this is something CW would normally consider, but given the fact that all our QB's have zero experience, our WR are fairly green, our RB are virtually untested, this could be the year that CW throws some extra wrinkes into the mix.

To me, the key part of this article isn't that Weis might play with 2 QBs. The key part is that WVU shredded Georgia Tech's defense in the bowl game. My bet is that Weis had some questions about the weaknesses that Rodriguez found in GT's defense.

The other thing that I want to know is what did Weis have to give up in return?

Very observant. Its not like we took it to the GT D with any kind of authority. That might what we should read into, more than their spread option.

Well doest West Va run the 3-4 also(according to NCAA 07)? so maybe charlie was bringing what corwin knows and what rodrigues knows, but thats just my guess.

I think Clausen is the starter but I would love to see ND bring in Jones in when they are near the goal line just to give them one more thing to think about.

It would be cool if every once in awhile that when ND's in the Red Zone that the bring in Jones and line him up next to Clausen and on certain plays Jones would get running play other times a passing, sometimes a direct snap to a run and/or pass.

I predicted a QB rotation months ago. I don't see why CW would have recruited Jones if he didn't want to try something non-traditional. I am intrigued by the idea of CW scripting plays for a mobile QB.

I think WVU run a 3-3 hybrid defense. But you make a good point because it is an odd-man front that does a lot of unconventional blitzing and stunting. It's never a bad thing to be exposed to new idea.
