One of my favorite players in the class. Catholic school kid in Memphis when the in-state & surrounding schools are down. Great film. Looks like an animal, ESPN ranks him as an OT. Good to see the staff following him now. Gonna be a star somewhere.

You'd have to think Jeremy Pruitt is going to be all over this guy. Way too good of a player not be recruit being in state.

My college teammate graduated from Christian Brothers High School a few years back and from what I know its a Catholic All-Boys School with an enrollment for about 900 kids. Its one of the better academic schools in Memphis and regularly sends kids to the Ivy Leagues, Williams College (my alma mater), and Vanderbilt. This kid might be looking for something better than Rocky Top.

lol was just poking fun at the fact that Corey Bodden pays less attention to follows and recruiting than Crus which is impressive. Well done sir. Caught that Clark Lea follow way back then.

The all seeing eye never blinks.

... and as far as DL vs OL, I wouldn't mind one bit if he ended up at OT, as long as he's in a shiny gold lid.

I keep forgetting to post this:

He also got an A&M offer yesterday, posted them back to back within 5 minutes.

It's gonna be fun watching Lea & Elko go head to head on recruits like Norton who aren't in Texas or the upper midwest where neither has a geographic advantage.

Right now 247 has ND, OSU, PSU, UGa & Bama as the 5 Warms.

Not Tenn, A&M, LSU, Ole Miss or Hail St

I know it's already been mentioned that we offered him on defense, but this article makes it very clear that he has absolutely no interest iin playing on the offensive side of the ball.

https://247sports.com/college/notre-dame/Article/Top-100-SDE-talks-Notre-Dame-offer-visit-plans-114916414

The opportunities a Notre Dame degree brings has Top 100 strong-side defensive end Bill Norton and his family intrigued following his Irish offer on Monday.

Norton has a had a big junior year, picking up offers from Alabama, Indiana, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Penn State.

The No. 74 overall prospect (per 247Sports 2019 rankings) also owns offers from Georgia, Memphis, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.

At 6-foot-6, 270-pounds, the physically imposing Norton was very disruptive this fall, racking up 45 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and a safety during Christian Brother’s High School’s 11-game season.

The Irish had Norton on their radar prior to this fall.

“(Notre Dame staff) came by late last (school) year, coach Clark Lea,” Norton said. “I got excited when I saw that Notre Dame had interest. I didn’t hear from them for a while, until a few days ago. I talked to Lea about school and things. I know a few people who go to Notre Dame who tell me the school is very impressive and it sets you up for life. That obviously has a huge effect. I was very excited when I got the news (about the offer).”

Norton, who hopes to study either computer science or computer engineering, saw plenty of excitement from his pro-academic parents and others around him regarding his Irish offer.

“They had no idea it was coming, but my mom is very excited about (the offer) and my dad thinks the football program and everything is great, but they’re more concerned what my life will be like after college – what opportunities I’m going to get. I haven’t even thought about going to ‘the league’ or anything. I’m more concerned about what it’s going to be like with job opportunities and things like that. Obviously, going to Notre Dame, there will be lots of opportunities.”

“I like the way they play there. I don’t know much about the program, but my history teacher is a big Notre Dame fan. He’s shown me pictures of their new facilities, all the top facilities that they have. I’m very impressed. People around my school like Notre Dame and when they heard the news, they were all telling me to go.”

The Irish will have plenty of competition for Norton, who is hearing from Alabama and Georgia regularly. Still, according to the star strong-side end, the Irish will be in the discussion.

“I definitely can see Notre Dame in the mix because of the program history and the success that they’ve had. And definitely because of the school, I can see them definitely playing a part in my decision.”

“The Junior Day on March 3, we’re definitely going to make a plan and if we can’t go to that one, we’ll definitely make a plan to go there later. I’m definitely looking forward to getting up there.”

Although Norton is listed at both strong-side defensive end and offensive tackle, he made it clear that he plans to play on the defensive line at the college level.

“In high school, I haven’t played a single snap of offense,” Norton said. “I’m not interested in offense at all. I want to stick with defense.

“I’m at 270 right now, maybe 265. I’m at defensive end, but if I gain weight – get up to 300 – I’ll be a d-tackle. But I’m happy at defensive end.”

With National Signing Day in the rear-view mirror, expect the Irish to spend plenty of time recruiting the defensive end position. Norton certainly has impressive traits and could be a big target for Notre Dame.

Norton, who hopes to study either computer science or computer engineering, saw plenty of excitement from his pro-academic parents and others around him regarding his Irish offer.

Stanford's web spider has sent this to the football program's recruiting director, a 100% AI / digital staff entity who has automatically requested transcripts from Christian Bros and executed a priority admissions request with that office's AI program. Once the AI's slide into Norton's DM with the auto-offer, Shaw is sent a message that the offer has been executed along with the exact recruiting plan for Norton based on personal data gleaned from social media, plus dark & deep web info such as debit card transactions and a collection of security film propagation using next level facial rec - behavioral tracking. In addition, a team of tracking drones have been sent to provide real time monitoring. This data is sifted by the recruiting algorithms, developed in house by Google to determine what, if any human interaction is needed and the appropriate times for optimal recruiting contact. A projected signing % is updated 1000x a second and available for Shaw to review on his Fitbit.

If ND wants to win this, the Vatican will have to install specially trained, recruiting nuns at Chritian Bros. Hopefully they send the albino... Sister Angelina Blanco and her state of the art carbon fiber ruler. She is our only hope.
