Visiting for Navy. Wiltfong CB'd him today.

We've talked about him in other 2019 threads. This is the guy who makes a lot of sense as a third OL take in '19 with Olmstead and Quinn.

If Tippmann gets an offer, it would seem a likely commit. Bishop Dwenger has been more reliable than about any other school than I can think of. I can't remember the last time a BD kid got a ND offer and didn't commit.

Wiscy and Indiana Tractor Tech.

So the wife and I are watching the game and the show the TCU score. She asks who is TCU and I tell her it's Texas Christian U. She replies, hmmm, I thought it was Texas Credit Union. lol

holy shit.

Wisconsin already has 4* OT Logan Brown from Grand Rapids committed to them in the 2019 class. Brown is going to shoot up the in rankings. He is waaaaaay better than "5 Star" Devontae Dobbs.

They got this guy to go along with Brown? They don't usually land highly rated OL recruits. They take walk-ons and transfers and 2* and 3*'s and make them great. Will be scary to see that OL development with big-time OL recruits.

Dobbs is going to be a OG. Logan Brown and Spencer Brown are the OT prospects. Dobbs and Anthony Bradford from Muskegon at guards. There's a lot more OL talent in Michigan that will hit the rankings soon.

Kinda a shame ND is locked in on Carroll and Olmstead. Brown's HC at East Kentwood is a ND fanatic and has the Irish in it for Mazi Smith and leading for '20 studs Bryce Mostella and Dallas Fincher.

Oh I agree with you 100%.

Dobbs is a guard all day. He's 6'4 and change, 280. He doesn't have the length to play tackle. I think he's a really good prospect, but he's severely over-ranked as a top 10 national player and the #1 tackle. He's not a tackle, and he's not a top 10 prospect in the nation.

Logan Brown is a freak. That kid is 6'6 and change, might be closer to 6'7 and he's 280's and he looks like he's 240's. No fat on him and he carries that weight well. Also has a wingspan of a 7 footer. Every bit as athletic as Dobbs. HE should be the #1 rated OT and a top 10 national player. Not Dobbs. I was salty af when they lost him to Wisconsin.

I have been saying they need to offer Bradford for months now. But seems like they are mainly going after tackles in the 2019 class.

ND in pursuit. Best OL performer at UA Chicago. ND after that other OT like I hoped. Still think he's ND's to take if they offer.

Earlier this week, Notre Dame offensive line coach Jeff Quinn stopped by Bishop Dwenger high school in Fort Wayne, Ind., to see three-star offensive tackle Joe Tippmann, another Wisconsin commit from the class of 2019. The Irish assistant checked in on the Badgers pledge on Monday.

"When we talked on the phone, coach was kind of inferring the if I were to visit, I'd probably get an offer," said Tippmann. "He didn't say it outright, but he made it clear they were interested. We've talked about visiting, but I'm not sure. I'm completely happy and set on Wisconsin. No doubt about that."

At this point, the 6-6, 283-pounder doesn’t hold a Notre Dame offer. However, behind closed doors, one is being discussed. One likely wouldn’t come his way unless he showed enough interest to return to South Bend for another visit, as noted above, so at this point it’s more of a waiting game. The fact is, Quinn has shown much more interest in the in-state talent than former offensive line coach Harry Hiestand did, so an offer is at least in the conversation at this point. Tippmann visited Notre Dame in November to check out game day against Navy and was in town for an offseason camp prior to that. However, he hasn’t been on campus to meet with Quinn since his arrival on staff.

Tippmann remains solid in his pledge to Wisconsin and has been an active recruiter for the Badgers 2019 class. He chose Wisconsin over offers from Ball State, Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa, Purdue and Northwestern. So, would a Notre Dame offer change his mind? That remains to be seen. In a previous interview with 247Sports insider Evan Flood, Tippmann took a firm stance on that question.

“It really wouldn't make a difference," said Tippmann to our Wisconsin recruiting analyst. “Notre Dame is a great school, but it's not Wisconsin."

I'll all but guarantee this unravels for Wiscy.

1. Word gets out that ND is stopping by to see him from an ND analyst and he retweets it.

2. Minny smells blood, offers and he tweets it.

3. The ND analyst tweets out Minny's offer and he retweet that.

He may not be 100% to ND but he's 99% done when it come to Wicy.

I think he's in the Carroll/Olmstead class of could be RT/OG's. He does have the most OT frame of the 3.

Agree but i thought they were looking for another Rouse or Kritso type?

I don't think they were looking for another Rouse or Kristofic type. I think they were looking for Rouse, maybe Vimahi depending on what Quinn projected him as. But they weren't shaking the trees for just any pure OT. They were highly focused after Kristofic.

Once the numbers got tight, OT/OL finished behind Rover and DE for the remaining spots and any action (like Vimahi) died on the vine.
