Anyone know what the plan is for this song this year? i'm assuming it will be the same "W" hand gesture we used with Ty, but wasn't sure if they changed it up for the coach that will actually bring us "W's" mwahahahah

This started when Lou Holtz was coach. Between the 3rd and 4th quarter the band would play the 1812 Overture and the student body would make and "L" for LOU out of their thumb and index finger and move their arms back and forth. The "L" showed their love and confidence in LOU and his team. This continued with TY by making a W by using both index fingers joining the thumbs to make a W.

I don't remember what the student body did for Davie. Does anyone know?

I don't think it has been determined yet on what they do for C-Dub. I agree with the above comments - I hope it is not the same W.

With ND's admission requirements, I'm sure those kids will be able to figure something out.

Speaking of that, I read in Blue and Gold that Weis scored a perfect 1600 on his SAT to get into ND. He will not confirm or deny it.

That's amazing, even if he came close.

It was a lowercase "b d" made with the thumb and index fingers of both hands.

Thanks for the info. Athough I like Davie and the way he represented ND even after his firing, the "b d" initials are fitting for the way he handled himself during the recruiting of the Pope Urban VII.

Hey, speaking of that...

anyone still up for the "Who Cares About Urban Meyer" t-shirt idea?

I get a great deal on screen printed shirts.

Justed talked to my daughter who is a frosh at ND -- THE STUDENT BODY IS GOING TO KEEP THE "W" for WEIS (and hopefully WIN) theme.

I'm pretty sure they did it long before Holtz. I believe it was an index figure for #1 before that.
