Notre Dame to see Florida State commit this week

Notre Dame has been pursuing additional linebackers this cycle and there is another one Irish fans should keep an eye on.

Chiles four-star linebacker Amari Gainer tells 247Sports and Irish Illustrated that the Fighting Irish staff will be in for a visit on Tuesday. Linebackers coach Clark Lea and defensive line coach Mike Elston will stop by to see the Florida State commit.

In addition, the 6-2, 205-pounder from the class of 2018 says an official visit to Notre Dame is already set for Dec. 15.

Gainer has been committed to the Seminoles since May 26 and while he'll be a tough pull for any school, there is plenty of genuine interest between both Notre Dame and Gainer at this point.

Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Gainer, an early enrollee, is ranked the No. 262 overall player nationally, No. 17 outside linebacker in the country and No. 51 prospect in Florida from the class of 2018.

One of my best friends works with his dad. Even his family doesn't know where he'll end up, so who knows for sure. With that said, I'd say it's safe to assume he stays home.
