69 rec ... 879 yds ... 10 TD's ... 6 rushing TD's on just 16 carries. Was the leading receiver even with 4 star N'keal Harry on his team. His QB Matt Moran is now at Oregon St. Also a track guy. Coming off a broken tibia suffered during last season's playoffs but is already training for track with an April return date scheduled.

My useless knowledge about this one real quick. His dad Keith played in the NFL for several years. His uncle is John Taylor (former 49er). Brother Kerry played at ASU and has been on a couple NFL teams. Brother Kendyl, I know him personally, was at Washington and is now at Northern AZ as a senior. Football definitely runs in the family. Great family and connections with the midwest.

I've seen the older Taylor kids play but I didn't know their Dad and uncle were Keith and John. My neighbor helped out with their special teams / kicking game a few years back when i was in AZ more. I will see them this year for sure. They open at Corona Centennial in CA and they usually play one of the Scottsdale schools by me, Saguaro or Chaparral.

I just watched his film. i like that kid A LOT. That's a real slot receiver right there. He looks very underrated to me. This is one of these classic cases of a 4 star guy hiding in plain sight with the spotlight on him. He outperformed N'Keal Harry, just like Drew White outperformed Nick Bosa at STA and Grant Calcaterra outperformed Dylan Crawford at SMC... all big time programs, with everyone watching and they didn't get their due. And make no mistake, Chandler was the top division defending state champ last year and was picked to win it again until Taylor broke his leg. That's Indy, Cincinnati or Cleveland level talent he's playing in that film... Hamilton, Brophy, DV, MV and Desert Ridge. To top that off, they scheduled some rinky dink Catholic school out of Vegas for a tune up.

I'll say this with some hesitation but he reminds me of DJ Foster as a junior. i say hesitation because Foster had the greatest season I've ever seen his senior year at Saguaro. 60 TD's in 13 games.

I hope this kid jumps on the offer. He has the right kind of offer list to make that happen.

Scout: Arizona receiver with Irish connection adds offer

Irish assistant Todd Lyght is heading the recruitment of three-star wide out Kolby Taylor of Chandler, Ariz., who added an Irish offer this week. Taylor’s uncle graduated from Notre Dame and his father spent nine seasons in the NFL.

Notre Dame joined a growing list of suitors when it offered three-star wide receiver Kolby Taylor of Chander (Ariz.) on Tuesday evening.

“I have been getting mail from them for a while,” Taylor said. “But actually, I’ve only talked to coach (Todd) Lyght a couple times before this on Twitter. I got the message to call him (Tuesday) night, and that’s when he offered.

“He told me that he loved my character and loved how high my GPA (3.9) is. He said the Notre Dame coaches like how I’m a playmaker and how I get yards after the catch. He said I can play inside or outside receiver and not many players can do that.”

The 5-foot-11, 186-pound wide out has grown up around football – his father, Keith Taylor, played in the NFL for nine seasons. His oldest brother Kerry played wide receiver at Arizona State and is currently a NFL free agent. His brother Kendyl signed with Washington State in 2012 before transferring to Northern Arizona last year.

His familiarity with the game is one reason why Notre Dame resonates strongly to Taylor.

“Notre Dame is a big time program,” Taylor said. “When you think of college football, it’s one of the programs that you think of. I love their gold helmets, and they’re always on TV because of their contract with NBC. One of my uncles went to Notre Dame, and he talks about it all of the time.”

Three schools stand out early to Taylor, who has offers from Arizona State, Illinois, Louisville, Missouri, Nevada, Northwestern, Oregon State, Utah and Hawaii, in addition to Notre Dame.

“My top three is Arizona State, Oregon State and Northwestern,” Taylor said. “ASU is the local school and I’ve been there a few times. I’ve been to Oregon State before but I’m going again in April for their spring game, and I’m visiting Northwestern for the first time this summer.”

The in-state Sun Devils offered Taylor his freshman year and Oregon State offered him as a sophomore.

“The schools in my top three all offered me early,” Taylor said. “ASU has been interested in me for a long time, so I have a good relationship with the coaches, and those schools seem to be on the right track in the direction of their programs.”

Notre Dame has potential to make up ground in Taylor’s recruitment if the Irish receive a visit this summer.

“I’m also visiting Illinois when I visit Northwestern because that’s where my dad went, and since they’re close to Notre Dame, hopefully I can squeeze that visit in,” Taylor said.

“They could definitely move up. They still offered me pretty early. If I’m able to take that visit, we’ll see where it goes.”

A broken left tibia sidelined Taylor during the semifinals of last season’s state playoffs, but before his injury Taylor caught 69 passes for 879 yards and 10 touchdowns. He rushed for six scores.

“I’m cleared for everything,” Taylor said. “I’ve been doing some light running and ladder work. I just haven’t gone full speed yet.”

The earliest Taylor believes a decision could come is August.

“I have no clear-cut time for when I want to make a decision,” Taylor said. “The earliest would be the end of summer around August. But I won’t have a presser with nine hats or anything like that. When I know where I want to go, I’ll make the decision.”

A variety of factors will impact Taylor’s decision-making process.

“High character coaches, good people, good business school, good academics overall, and a chance to play early,” Taylor said. “I know it’s really hard to start as a freshman, but even if it’s special teams, I want the chance to compete early.”

Do not like. Anti-Hattite.

If he means everything he said here, why would he wait to until August to sign with Northwestern?

“Honestly I was a little surprised when the offer came." Taylor said last week. "I had talked to them before and had got some basic mail that a lot of people get. But then [defensive backs coach Todd Lyght] messaged me a few days ago and said to call him. So I did and he ended up offering. It was pretty surprising, but I’ll take.”

“I don’t know a whole bunch about Notre Dame," he added. "But I do know about [Arizona native and Notre Dame cornerback Cole Luke.] He’s from here. I have watched him play a little bit. I also know they are in South Bend and an independent school. They got the nice shiny gold helmets and are always on national TV, which is cool."

“Right now they are pretty new so it’s hard to say [where Notre Dame stands] but hopefully I’ll be able to develop a bond and relationship with the coaches. I mean they just offered me. I just want to see where it kind of goes. My three other favorites — ASU, Oregon State and Northwestern — have all been talking to me for a while. ASU offered me my freshman year. Oregon State my sophomore year and then Northwestern just offered me a few months ago, but I have had contact with them all for a while ... But Notre Dame is a great school. They can definitely can get into the mix. I don’t think it’s too late at all.”
