A new name to follow. S Isaiah Simmons out of Kansas. Elliot was down to see him in January and he might visit for Junior Day. Definitely fits the mold of a long rangy FS.

"It has really just been a little bit of communication here and there. Just normal recruiting," Simmons said when asked about Notre Dame. "Right now my options are completely wide open just to whatever program is really going to fit me best. I'm just really looking around to make sure my playing style will fit into whatever college I choose."

he was hoping for a visit even before Gilmore passed through his school.

"It would actually mean a lot [if he came by]," Simmons said on Sunday. "An offer from them would be nice. I'm kind of waiting on some bigger offers. But it will all just play out."

said that he wants to hear more from Notre Dame and told Blue & Gold Illustrated on Sunday that an offer would mean a lot. He could play safety at the next level, but might project best as an outside linebacker.
