Well Buncom said the Coaches straight up told him they initially were only going to to take one safety but he got offered after the injuries happened and now they want to take two. With McKinney in the fold I wonder where this leaves Tell if Buncom commits. I think they both are planning on dragging it out but there is only one spot available for Safety.

In the Scout interview after his Vandy visit he still lists ND as one of his final 3 OVs (ND, A&M, OU). He also says the right things regarding academics and the future after football.

He is my biggest want at safety left reminds me of Max Redfield

So really we are looking at Marshall, Tell, and Buncome for the last safety spot. Is there any confidence in landing any one of these guys? I think Marshall is not even a possibility.

In last Friday night's game against Notre Dame, Marvell Tell shadowed C J Sanders for zero receptions. The score was 21 - 7 when Notre Dame's quarterback, Cole Klayman, left the game with a shoulder injury. Crespi dominated both sides of the line of scrimmage, and won 56 - 21. A teammate of Tell's, Torrance Brumfield, is a player to watch in recruitment. Like Shaun Crawford, he plays both sides of the ball. And, like Crawford, he's small, and has not received much attention.

I have NO DOUBT that Tell is the man. But the QB just might not have been good enough to get him the ball with an elite athlete draped all over him-- this isn't 7 on 7 where you can wait for the perfect moment.

If your speaking of Iman Marshall he's a CB. And just too good to pass up, IF he wanted in. Put Ross on that list as well he's still visiting, I believe for Louisville.

Also CJ was shutout that game from receptions but he did run back a 95 yard kickoff for a TD. So he still impacted the game.

Selling point for Tell: "You can start for Notre Dame the minute you step on campus."

Both those uni's are slick. I love the marriage of UCLA and Philadelphia Eagles for SMC.

I'll go to Crespi and John Bosco in 2 weeks if it happens. Would love to see Rosen go up against Tell.

true that. Big time CA programs always have good uni's. I love Servite's also. One exception, Long Beach Poly is terrible IMO

As a life long Blackhawks fan, I can't stomach any high school team that steals it's look from the LA Kings. Bleeeeeeeeeeeeeck!

Gotta disagree with you on Poly. I'm always about the green and gold.

I think you got them confused with Long Beach Cabrillo?

This is Cabrillo's grey alternates they wore against Poly

This is their chartreuse lid. Looks like a fishing lure.

Scout: Took a surprise OV to USC this last weekend. Had a great time. He will OV to A&M then announce at the Army game.

Seems like USC will land one hell of a DB class and several will announce at the All-American games.

I am not sure Tell is all that great, local competition he was burned a lot. Maybe he turns out to be a good player with coaching but I just don't get it. I mean, are his rankings based on upside because he has plenty of that?

USC's secondary could be ridiculous going forward. Keep in mind that Adoree Jackson was the Pac 12 defensive freshman of the year. Add to that Sua Cravens, Jonathan Lockett, Iman Marshall, Ykili Ross, Marvell Tell, Leon McQuay III and you have the makings for a very talented group.

Who knows Juju could swing to that side also.

Still love him at WR.

Are you sure?

I only saw one of their games but he was part of a Crespi D that held KJ Costello to his worst game of the year. I know that Love from Cal Poly had a 300yd / 4 TD game in the playoffs but they were 9-1 and only game up 11ppg going into that game.

He looked like an All American against SMC.

KJ was rattled and played poorly but Crespi has a top defense in SoCal. That Kyle Sweet guy from RSM burned Tell a couple of times in that game. Credit to Tell for coming back but Sweet's not a very good player considering. I would give more credit to the defense as a whole of rattling KJ. Multiple times, RSM tried to isolate Sweet vs Tell.

SMC tried to isolate Sweet on everybody and for good reason.

That kid is going to be a STAR at the next level. He's a 4.5 flat track kid and has got great hands. He is the most under valued WR in the country and if ND wasn't stocked, I'd have put up a profile for him. The only thing that separates him from Trent Irwin is 2-3 inches and number of targets. SMC's #2 had 70 receptions and their #3 had 40. I don't know the numbers for Hart but they had no #2 with any amount of receptions to speak of.

The services are missing on this kid and I'll bet the house a Power 5 ends up with him over the San Diego St and Hawaii's who are on him now.

Back to Tell... he's going to be a very good safety, guaranteed.

I believe Tell shut down CJ Sanders no?

You can't really say that. Notre Dame was a fun first team and they shuffled 3 QB's around with limited success. Sanders had under 40 receptions on the year. But had around 500 yds rushing and 10 TD's as the second option.
