McBride goin' to the hoop like a cowboy, not her usual finesse.

2-8 from the floor.

Not a great first half.

Let's hope they make their usual halftime adjustments.

A) Natalie Achonwa took way too much physical abuse.

B) Rarely (believe it or not) do opponent fans irritate me as much as ASU's did. "Air ball!"

C) What conference were the refs from at this regional site?

All good points. Refs in the women tourney are mostly terrible. Not the best game for the Irish, but this team is so good that it didn't matter. Better play games like these early in the tournament then late. The road to perfection continues haha.

I am going to answer this the same way Bob Stoop answered a question asked to him during the half time interview of the ND game in Norman.

=> "I am not going to answer that. That's a trick question" and then runs away to the locker room.

Seriously though, that is absurd.

I'm a little worried about the potential elite eight matchup with Baylor. If Odyssey Sims shuts down Allen, it could really disrupt the flow of our offense. I'm also worried about her nerves as a true freshman going forward as each stage the stakes get higher and higher. I think our success is dependent on her being able to direct the team.

After several of those ASU Band's "Air Ball!" chants, I heard a low but distinctive refrain in response.

It took me a moment but my heritage clicked in and I recognized the lone voice of one Irish fan (probably with peat embedded in the soles of his shoes) diplomatically replying to the Sun Devil uncouths with Póg mo thóin.

I had no doubt that someone I knew was at the game.

I don't know man. Anything can happen, and Baylor is a very capable team that is for sure.
That said, Allen's job is to handle the ball and distribute it. I can't really remember anyone aside maybe Diggins being this smooth, intelligent, and fearless with the ball as a freshman. IMO, she is already better then 95% of the PG in the country. She doesn't need to score a single bucket for us to win. Add that with all the other great weapons that we have, we are deadly. Besides, Lloyd and McBride can run the offense as well. Sims can pose problems, but no 1-2 player team can beat ND this year.

There is a story about a group of ASU fans bitching about the weather for about the 10,000th time and a Toledoan, looking at them incredulously, telling them they were in Northwest-Ohio and that was the way it was. One asked him why anyone would live in a place like this, and he replied that the residents made up for it in other ways. When asked how, he replied that they do what they can, for example, they kick out all of the assholes. With which he graciously followed with, "So will you be flying back right after the game?"

It was funny if you were there. Timing is everything.

It's still funny.

I guess it's all in perspective, but why would you want to live in Waco? That's right, they don't get snow or zero degree weather. They get to put up with 100% temps and the humidity.

UConn is gonna be tough to beat. Hopefully Dolson and Stewart get in early foul trouble...
