The Tigers didn't have a ton of success throwing the ball down the field, but when they did it was because Newbold (6-0, 170) was making plays when nothing was there. He showed that he can high-point the football and displayed good body control and hand-eye coordination. He's not as much of a catch-and-run slot guy as much as he is a stretch-the-field vertical threat. He really excels in the intermediate passing game when he can get defenders on double moves to the outside and work the seam. He has all of the makings of a player who would be a good FBS prospect at receiver

He also plays CB and has the size for a Kelly DB.
