It can be done though, especially if you are Oklahoma (Gerald McCoy). Get the parents to know what ND is about and the kids will listen. Go after them and go after them hard.

McCoy was from Oklahoma City. You're right though, it is possible, just extremely difficult.

It just takes time. The recruiter has to become familiar with the coaches and players when they are young to develop a relationship. It will take a few years for a real pay off but look at Polian. I am sure people said its impossible to recruit Cali aganst Carrol, but Polian went in got a few recruits and over the years has made getting elite talent out of the state an expectation

I have to imagine the 3.5 this kid has can't hurt ND's cause at all either.

I want every player that starts at Dallas-Skyline. That seems like a decent recruiting strategy to me. How many signed D-1 letters this season? I believe at least seven.

True but they dont teach the same football toughness in California, Trust me I love Jimmy and Shaq evans and Cierre Wood, But KLM is the only texas prospect we have gotten in a while he has brought some stability to that position We need to go in their and recruit like madmen I, and I am thinking Brian Kelly, wants to players, I know we can already win recruiting battles in California, we have been doing it for a while lets finally win some in texas

This post has nothing to do with this recruit. You have an obvious axe to grind with ND recruiting, take it to the Notre Dame Football Thread and start a thread on it.

Check your PMs.

I would love to see more guy's from Texas at ND. Hope Wallace chooses ND but as some have stated, it's hard with that dam school in Austin.

He's looking to make a ton of trips this summer. So far, he's only been to TX and OK's junior days; TX really impressed him and he loves his position coach, Will Muschamp, and he loved OK's depth chart at LB.

He named a bunch of schools he wants to visit this summer, and ND was one of them, along with Michigan, Florida, and some west coast schools including OR, SC, and UCLA. Said the most important factors to him will be his position coach, and then the depth chart, as he wants to play early. Sports an impressive 3.5 GPA.

ND is a longshot here, unless we actually get him on campus and he clicks with the coaches...
