UCLA reprters are reporting that Milton will be a Bruin. :(

which reporters? recruiting site reporters? LA paper reporters?

was this it?
UCLA appears ready to not only tie up its long-committed recruits, but add some outstanding additional signees Wednesday.

Information received today indicates that Parade All-American running back Milton Knox of Birmingham High School is going to sign with UCLA, even though he took a trip to Notre Dame in late January.

Yeah, he's a goner. Too far, and too cold. Good luck Knox.

Amazing how yesterday all indications were that he would be Irish. Wow.

well, sometimes you can be enamored with how you think something will be. then you get that thing and it's not exactly how you pictured it in your mind.

good luck to him if this info is correct.

I don't care about some stupid LA blog spot. If people think he's gone off of a blog they are jumping the gun a tad early.

right Akron, they have 3 with Knox and i think they may add 1 more. while that's not as deep as USC's backlog at that position, still makes it more interesting to get playing time.

Inside UCLA with Brian Dohn

Birmingham High of Lake Balboa's Milton Knox said he is spending plenty of time trying to make a final decision, but may wait until Wednesday.
"Part of my family may not be very happy with me,'' the star running back said. "My family doesn't want me leaving (Southern California). They're not too happy. They didn't want me to go on the trip."

Sources close to Knox said they believed Knox would wind up at UCLA, but Notre Dame has become more of a player than even Knox thought it would be.

I spoke to Birmingham High of Lake Balboa running back Milton Knox a few minutes ago, and he said he was so impressed with his trip to Notre Dame he is heavily considering the Irish over UCLA.
"Right now I don't know,'' Knox said. "It's a hard decision. I want to say I'm going to wind up at UCLA. But Notre Dame is the school I grew up rooting for."
Knox said he was blown away by his visit to South Bend, Ind., where he toured the campus, visited the famed Basilica and ran out on the field. He also attended the basketball game against DePaul.
"The student section was chanting my name,'' Knox said. "It was great. I was signing autographs and taking pictures with people. I didn't think it was going to be that good."

So the Irish aren't out of the Knox "sweepstakes" just yet. Again, this proves the fact that ND is a "special place" and the main driving point is to just get a recruit on campus for an official visit and let the surroundings do the selling! Though, IMO, another RB is NOT a must for this class, but you just can't pass up this type of talent (Knox) when it's within reach!

Hopefully, he'll be irish but if not, we already have some talent at that postion so I don't think it will hurt us too bad.

Wonder if Dayne will be throwing pebbles at his window tonight. "Hey Milty... come to Notre Dame"

I like the tone of that interview. Dayne throwing pebbles and McDonald and maybe Fauria could come on a little visit too.

If not made clear before, the ND community is truly an extended family. I hope that his parents will let him follow his heart. He will be at home at ND.

I dont know about you guys but if I went on an official visit to the school
and the students already know who i am and are chanting my name during the basketball
game I would be so pumped up and would probably commit and not to mention signing autographs when you're only 18 and not even going to that school for sure
that is just so cool

When I was down at the spring game last year Darius Flemming was on campus walking around afterwards with his high school coach and he really looked amazed when people were walking up to him and shaking his hand, patting is back and asking for photos and autographs. Each person was like "Darius... we need you out there man... you know you're all Irish." I think he was just blown away by the fact that people knew who he was already.

In fact, I was actually blown away that people other than me knew who he was... I didn't imagine there would be that many other ND recruiting junkies there.

Everytime I'm there it feels like a pilgrimage back home or something... you can feel it and smell it in the air...

I know it's been said in the past... but I also think if a guy doesn't feel that... he shouldn't commit to ND.

But if you do feel it... as Knox seemingly does... well... he should pull the trigger... (actually that phrase would be more appropriate if he was going to committ to Florida)... so let's say... he should follow his heart instead...

Let's hope this is NOT another case of ND finishing second. We have done that way more than our share.
