i highly doubt that. i've read where the champions league is becoming more prestigious to players than the world cup. i don't want to believe it, becuz i love the world cup, but i can see that happening.

you hit the nail partially on the head. platini can't stand barclays premiereship teams dominance over the cl in recent years and his disgust has been documented. so the conspiracy theorists have used that as fuel for their fire over these poorly officiated games vs. barca (chelsea & arsenal).

completely agree. hit them where it hurts....the wallet & game time. suspend & fine them an exorbitant amount. what doesn't make sense is that arsenal had a player (eduardo) that was suspended for diving against our beloved celtic (which lead to a pk goal), either last year or the year...

i hope jose mourhino plays his entire bench vs. barca & get blown out. that would be the perfect slap in the face to UEFA.

it pains me to think like that, but after what i've seen out of barca in critical games....i DO NOT want to see them win the CL trophy. i guess i'm cheering more for a barca debacle than a united win.

the first goal was nice. a nicely timed run and a well played pomo ball. as for the 2nd goal.....did you watch the real madrid players? they didn't even bother making a tackle cuz they knew if they did, a card would follow. the complexity of this game changed drastically after the pepe red...

yeah, i was surprised they tied tottenham. what a start to the game though. the first 7 to 10 minutes was ridiculous. i love attacking soccer.

agreed, copa del rey is the one i'd choose too. champions league is so big, and better to prepare for. although, i don't think barca is going to take it. rm is playing with a good rythm defenisvely. pepe is a workhorse.

well, the special one does surely know how to game plan. i'm not a particular fan of either team (although i think barca plays a beautiful game), but i do like how jose has his boys playing great in the midfield with pressure at the point of attack. jose's one of my favorite managers.

i think schalke will take man pu. toss up between real and barca. barca's definitely the better team, but with jose calling the shots, you never know. can he pull off what he did with inter last year? we shall see and i can't wait. btw, gareth bale has made plenty of players look like...
