Yeah, because it was the only game on. Is FSU playing in their bowl game in 2023 after getting similarly screwed supposed to be a model of what to do? They had a huge number of opt-outs, got killed, and haven't been good since. Not sure how playing in that game helped them.

I mean, both teams in the NCG last year had transfer QBs. This year, 3/4 (or I guess 4/4) teams in the semifinals do. If a team wins with a portal QB, what's the issue with not being able to recruit a QB out of HS, who may or may not reflect their ranking? Miami having a seasoned QB and us...

IU appears to have better coaching than ND. They weren't unprepared in their big games. I wouldn't have been confident playing them this year, although it would have been a 50/50 type game.

I'm not saying we would have lost to IU; I'm saying if we were in then Bama wouldn't be in and we wouldn't be playing OSU, because they just lost.

Bama got killed by UGA the day before the committee picked the teams for the playoff. It looked like this. It didn't matter at all; the process is a sham. So I don't know how Bama "hurting their reputation" by this performance really matters.

We wouldn't have this year, either, if we had been in. We'd be where Bama is playing IU.

I know on conference championship weekend the committee was busy rewatching the ND/Miami game that took place more than three months earlier, and not watching the SEC CG game because those games don't count for Bama, but it still happened. So this isn't a surprise, is it?

Bingo. It's about money. Nobody with eyes to see and ears to hear thought ND was worse than OU and Bama.

Because the press -with the ACC's complicity- framed the debate as ND vs. Miami, when it should have been Alabama vs. OU. On this view, the committee "got it right" because Miami has done well. To be clear, both Miami and ND deserved to be in.
