Well, as you can imagine no one is happy about last night. I would expect ND will open up the playbook and get a bit more aggressive after seeing the qb isn’t going to be a detriment. Being your qb is no Beck, I do anticipate ND playing a more aggressive defense as well. I have some concerns...

Positives: Qb is going to be fine. Cool head and doesn’t seem to force throws. The offense seems to find some rhythm in the second half and line play did improve. Punter and kicker were both an asset. The receiver core seems much improved. Didn’t give up and pretty much won the 4th quarter...

Refs didn’t do us many favors tonight, but you can’t be happy about line play for the better part of the game. Encouraged by qb play though.

So far, I can see signs Carr may develop into a good qb this year. Has a wonderful sense of presence and remains calm. I had worried our step back might be in the middle of the defensive line and so far that seems possible. Beck is having far too much time to pick his passes.

My only concern so far is the lack of line wins, both sides of the ball.
