'24 UT ATH Davis Andrews (Utah Verbal '26)

In a year where the ND beat has seemingly been consistently taking it on the chin, no person has done a better job of trashing their credibility than Loy. The past few years of building his credibility back up has seemingly been undone.

State of the Recruiting Class - 2024

His father was not even close to the norm. Genetics play a huge factor in this kind of stuff. Most boys will have their growth spurts between 12-15. Brian had his later and it took him longer to reach his final height. It's definitely not unreasonable to think a similar situation could happen...

State of the Recruiting Class - 2024

To be fair, Urlacher was like 5'9 and 160 pounds as a sophomore and by the time he was wrapping up his senior year, he was 6'4 and 200. Alt was already tall, but Urlacher definitely had to grow an insane amount in the span of about 2 years. Kennedy is about 6'0 now, so it's not unreasonable to...

'24 AL LB Bradley Shaw (Offer)

ISD pretty much stated that there is zero correlation with Shaw's leanings and where KVA is going to decide. That said, I think the article is focusing more on where Shaw is going to OV this season, which is why Auburn and Alabama are the focus. He already OV'd to ND, so he can't OV again.

The recent draft results seem to match this. Most of the LB's taken early in the draft played different positions, namely safety, in HS. Rezac and Urlacher fit that mold this year.

'24 NC S Malcolm Ziglar (North Carolina Verbal)

I know that saying team rankings mean nothing is seen as defeatist attitude, but it's next to impossible to take those seriously when you have services like On3 and 247 spewing absolute nonsense and calling it legitimate scouting. I wouldn't have Ziglar as a top 250, much less top 50.

'24 CA LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa (Notre Dame Signee)

Amil, sure. I wouldn't say Vernon or Styles went that way. They were both super early commits who decided on ND over a year prior to actually signing.

State of the Recruiting Class - 2024

ISD seems to think that Logan Saldate might be a name to look out for in the future to maybe get an offer. 5'11 receiver out of Salinas, CA. Very athletic and shows on film. Has great vertical and good catch radius in spite of his size.

I'll say ND. At some point, one of these has to go ND's way. Long overdue for one of these.

'23 TX WR Jaden Greathouse (Notre Dame Signee)

Greathouse wasn't a 5-star, because he doesn't have 5-star measurables. He wasn't 6'3+, he didn't show insane explosiveness and sub 4.4 40 speed. What he does well is what guys like Anquan Boldin did well. They don't waste movement, they win the 50/50 balls consistently and are strong enough...

State of the Recruiting Class - 2024

I put ZERO stock into 247's rankings. Michigan is 4th right now, and their class is full of guys that ND passed on or recruited over. Jacob and Jerod Smith are both ranked higher than Mullins and Young. It's not even close, I and many others choose Mullins and Young over the Smith Bros in a...

State of the Recruiting Class - 2024

A lot of the attention has been on Power and his abysmal ranking of Carr, but I'll be honest, 247's overall job this year has been some of the most amateurish scouting I've ever seen. Granted, it's been mostly across the board, but some of the rankings, just from ND's commits are inexcusably...

'22 SC LB Jaylen Sneed (Notre Dame Signee)

When Freeman was at Cincinnati, he used Jarell White a lot as a blitzer off the edge. White was 5'10 205. I can see Sneed playing a similar role as the one White had under Freeman.

It's hit or miss if I can get sauerkraut, but I prefer that over tomato slices. Adds more crunch and less watery mush, and I'm fine with little sweetness, I prefer my dog savory and with a good bit of bite to it.

I think this just shows how bass-ackwards NYC truly is. Ketchup on a hotdog? The f*ck? Mustard, Pickle Spear, Neon Relish, Sport Peppers, Diced Onions, Celery Salt.

'24 IL DL Justin Scott (Miami [FL] Verbal)

Yeah, no, I'm tripping. I was basing a lot of this off the roster alignment. But watching the UGA game in 2020, it seemed more like Sanders was playing the Vyper role, while the 3-down front was mostly Jabari Taylor, Curtis Brooks and Elijah Ponder. Still, in that case, Sanders was practically...

We rag on Power a lot (and yes, he does deserve it), but I'll go ahead and say that the rest of the services aren't exactly making him look dumber. Overall, it's been a pretty shite year for recruiting services in terms of rankings. They're just all over the place.

'18 SC QB Sam Hartman (Notre Dame Transfer)

All part of the natural SEC circle-jerk. Kentucky ended up beating an insanely overrated Florida team, and that got them from 20 to 8, only for Ole Miss to swoop in and beat them and then get embarrassed by LSU and then spiral out of control, losing four straight to end the year. Really, the...

'24 IL DL Justin Scott (Miami [FL] Verbal)

Hamilton had zero business slipping down to 14. But the reality is that LT is a premier position and will be targeted far earlier than safety. Same reason why Mayer dropped. Those positions just aren't coveted as highly.
