    Marcus Freeman Revisited

That’s kind of the point. Were down at most positions on the offensive side( OL, WR, QB) yet we’re also more talented than ever before? It’s the same as it’s been forever. Holes in the roster at multiple positions makes it impossible to be a championship team. By most metrics, we’re similar to...

I guess we’ll see if the NFL and Heisman voters agree with you.

    Marcus Freeman Revisited

These are the guys on the 2012 team (Kelly's 3rd year) that were drafted in the next two drafts: Tyler Eifert Manti Te'o Jamoris Slaughter Theo Riddick Kap Zeke Motta Zach Martin Stephon Tuitt Troy Niklas Lous Nix Chris Watt Prince Shembo Bennett Jackson TJ Jones Do you think we're more...

    Marcus Freeman Revisited

I keep hearing this but it's not true. We're basically the same as the entire Kelly regime. Strong in some areas and weak in others.

I really don't want Meyer or Saban to come here because I'm afraid they would not be able to deliver a title either and then I would have no hope left.

In most of those game the defense played well. Think we gave up over 30 just once, to Louisville last year.

Much like when we play Navy, you win these games on offense. Getting a big lead and making them one dimensional is what you’re supposed to do against a MAC team.

    Chicago Bears address

Watched the game yesterday and as I live in Tennessee I was rooting for the Titans. I really like seeing Caleb Williams in the NFL as he’s easily my favorite athlete to root against. Gonna be a fun ride.

I mean, it makes sense if you assume to win in the playoffs you have to be able to pass. Part of the benefits of scheduling a MAC team is it should give you an opportunity to work on these things. Obviously, at a certain point you still have to win the game.

'22 NJ QB Steven Angeli (Notre Dame Signee)

Personally, I never understood taking RL this year when he only had one year of eligibility. Didn’t seem like the kind of guy who step in and play well right away. Hartman you could see because of his experience. So now we’ve got a guy who is mediocre and won’t be back next year. This means the...

Is that stat real? I almost can’t believe it. I mean, it seems completely plausible from what I’ve seen so far.

'22 NJ QB Steven Angeli (Notre Dame Signee)

“The backup quarterback is the most popular guy in town” That quote had literally been around for decades. If we can’t discuss and bitch about the quarterback position, what’s the point of all this? Also, RL blows. I now know what PJ would have been if he stayed here. I guarantee one of the...

‘21 AL QB Riley Leonard (Duke Transfer - Notre Dame Verbal)

Weis years. Transformed Quin and developed Clausen. I believe both were high 2nd round picks.

‘21 AL QB Riley Leonard (Duke Transfer - Notre Dame Verbal)

For whatever reason, Kelly’s quarterbacks were always better their first year as starters. They seemed to get worse the more they played under him. Book probably didn’t as the exception although he never really got much better.

In that case, mea culpa. Not to get political but maybe we should raise the age of voting to 21.

Just play the best guy that isn't named Riley. Don't really care which of the three it is.

‘21 AL QB Riley Leonard (Duke Transfer - Notre Dame Verbal)

Not to pile on after a loss but I thought this last week and last year with Hartman but why are these transfer QBs named Captains? I'm sure it means little in the grand scheme but it's jarring to me seeing the C on their jerseys. They just got here. I'm old.

    Marcus Freeman Revisited

Yeah, he usually struggled in the big games. I don't actually think Freeman will be the next Dabo just that it was the absolute best case scenario with the way he coaches. Looks like he'll just be another mediocre guy.

    Marcus Freeman Revisited

Best case for Freeman IMO, is that he can pull off the Dabo model. Took Dabo awhile to not lose games he should have won. One thing Dabo was able to do was get great QB play. Cures a lot of ills. Curious to see if Freeman has the stones to make a change there.

Bad news is Freeman is the 2nd coming of Faust. Good news is last time we followed him up with a NC coach. 2028 will be our year.
