What a win. When Liverpool are at their best, they just suffocate teams with their pressure. So much for Spanish dominance ... ... at least until 2 weeks from now. Sevilla is in the Copa Del Rey final too. Tough team and it will be a tough game for LFC.

Right. I think I remember reading at some point in February or March or so that all 7 Spanish teams that started the season in European competition, either Champs League or Europa, were still alive in one competition or the other. Amazing. And just off the top of my mind, two of them only...

It's almost bizarre how dominant Spanish teams have been in European competition. According to this ESPN FC article, they've won 45 of their last 48 knockout ties against teams from other countries. That's insane.

It makes for exciting viewing, but I don't think it's really a fair way to decide games. There really is no fair way, in soccer. The only way that is truly fair that I can think is to just play sudden-death overtime periods until someone scores, but I don't think that will ever happen...

Nainggolan is one of my favorite players, and he would be a great pickup for Chelsea, imo. They have good defensive CMs (Mikel and Matic) and a great attacking CM (Fabregas) but they need a CM engine who can do a bit of both for them. I didn't mean to suggest for a moment that you are a...

Be careful. LFC are the Notre Dame of English football. If you go down this road, you start to sound a little USC-ish.

How many straight reds could have been given in that game? Maybe as many as four, by my unofficial count: Dembele, Dier, Lamela, and Walker all committed what appeared to be violent conduct. Just a crazy game to watch. But John Terry had this to say afterward: I kind of agree with that...

That game last night ... What a spectacle. Spurs just completely lost their composure after the second CFC goal. The nasty tackles flying all over the pitch ... It's a wonder there weren't more injuries. And that Hazard goal ... Incredible.

It seems the closest thing anyone can think of is Greece winning Euro 2004. Not bad, but not quite the same. Rog HATES Randy Lerner for what he has done to Aston Villa. And he's not even a Villa fan. He just hates him.

It's really an incredible story. Is there any parallel in American sports? I can't think of a close one.

Yes, LCFC clinches with a Tottenham draw. True, although what a thrilling game this THFC/CFC game has been.

Holy shitballs. In week 36 Hazard decides he wants to some play football before the season ends. (Well, to be fair, he did have a two-goal game recently.)

The mood at Vardy's is probably pretty dismal right now. 2-0 Spurs

So is Jamie Vardy having a party tonight? Spurs have to win, or there will be all kinds of shenanigans at Vardy's.

LCFC run-in: Swansea, Man U, Everton, Chelsea Tottenham: West Brom, Chelsea, Southampton, Newcastle It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Slightly tougher run in for LCFC, but they do have a 5 point lead.

Emphatic win. Leicester will be looking over their shoulders, especially with Vardy out for at least one game, maybe another.

Whoa, if that's true then I have not seen a representative sample of City games, which is certainly possible. I can't have watched more than 10 City games this year, maybe fewer. But in those games, it seemed to me that opposing teams are finding too much space in the middle of the park. I...

I agree. Man City is one of those teams that can beat anyone and lose to anyone (a lot rides on whether Yaya feels like he gives a shit on a given day), but I wouldn't want to play them right now. They look dangerous. Man City needs an upgrade in central midfield, and/or they need to keep...
