I’d go so far as to argue that losing Mayer is addition by subtraction. Targets will be spread to playmakers like Styles, Colzie, Merriweather, and JT. Add in the incoming freshmen WRs and a QB who can throw a checkdown and the offense becomes much more explosive and unpredictable.

If Al Golden bolted for the Bearcats job, you could look at Mike Tressel for DC. Similarly, if TR leaves, you can bring in Gino Guidugli.

B10 is about to expand with USC/UCLA joining. He’s limited with regard to the AAC and has taken Cincy about as far as he probably could take them. It’s a step up without incredible pressure like it would be at OSU, ND, SEC, etc. Probably doesn’t hurt it’s gonna be a huge pay raise.
