Some of the candidates are interesting. I would’ve thought they’d target someone with prior HC experience.

Which probably factored into Fickell’s decision.

ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

I’d go so far as to argue that losing Mayer is addition by subtraction. Targets will be spread to playmakers like Styles, Colzie, Merriweather, and JT. Add in the incoming freshmen WRs and a QB who can throw a checkdown and the offense becomes much more explosive and unpredictable.

If Al Golden bolted for the Bearcats job, you could look at Mike Tressel for DC. Similarly, if TR leaves, you can bring in Gino Guidugli.

A Big 12 minus Texas and Oklahoma though so they move to a slightly stronger conference then the AAC but doesn’t hold a candle to the B10 especially after USC/UCLA join.

ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

Not to mention, it’s a huge assumption Riley stays at USC for the long haul. Arizona will need a HC soon, McVay has talked retirement, if Dallas is one and done in the playoffs, how much longer will they keep McCarthy? Caleb had his Heisman moment because ND shut down the WRs for the most part...

B10 is about to expand with USC/UCLA joining. He’s limited with regard to the AAC and has taken Cincy about as far as he probably could take them. It’s a step up without incredible pressure like it would be at OSU, ND, SEC, etc. Probably doesn’t hurt it’s gonna be a huge pay raise.

Umpire’s job to watch the linemen. Man probably lost a lot of money on ND/Clemson and got rent due next week.

Would be the end of Bearcat relevancy.

Who would have more pressure: MF at ND or MF at OSU?

Last night was a perfect night for a Snead spy. You could’ve done a lot with that. It would’ve freed Kollie up to take on the RB. Could’ve then used Kiser on the Mickey side to provide him help. Ben Morrison and Xavier Watts on one side with Mickey, Kiser, and Brown/Henderson on the other...

I’m not too worried about Riley. I think he tries for the NFL a lot sooner than people think. Arizona should have an opening soon, if not this year, and how much longer does McVay stay in LA before retiring? Fickell to Wisconsin is a good move for both. Leonard will have plenty of suitors...

Don’t let a Heisman winner get you down. He’s that talented and has been doing it all year. When he’s going up against UGA, we’ll see. What I’m still confused about is the defensive game plan because every other play seemed like Bertrand and/or Liafu was slamming themselves against the IOL upon...

    Nov 26 | Southern Cal

Welcome to the club, Troy. It’s not even the homerism from Fowler that bothers me. He just doesn’t have THAT voice of a play by play guy. It’s annoying. Herb used to be good but he’s gotten lazy and clearly doesn’t do his homework anymore. Nothing was as evident as his analysis of the Brandon...

ND needs to stop recruiting the Pyne/Bertrand types.

The coaching staff has got to make those guys (and others) a priority during bowl prep.

It would be massively disappointing if Snead/Kollie can’t overtake Bertrand and Liafu.

    2022 Bowl Projections

Mayer/Foskey should not suit up for ND ever again. Incredibly too risky to play in a meaningless bowl game, even against BK. That said, I don’t want LSU because it feels like we play them in a bowl every few years.

I’m not sure QB play has bothered me more than Pyne.
