A game like this can build confidence for a team like IU, but they definitely have been exposed and Mendoza is vulnerable to a strong pass rush.

That wasn’t a perfect 2-minute offensive drive, but man nice final drive to win the game. I guess Mendoza and IU woke up when they needed to.

DeVonta, Smitt, HT/WT. 6' 0", 170 lbs, made it, but was special. If I remember correctly, he was just amazing at creating separation, getting open; and pretty damn fast, and just catching the ball all over the place, and many for TDs. Frazier is more about shifty moves, speed, and RAC.

Now, I would like to see TX lose one more (likely, with GA and TAMU still on the schedule) And for sure, USC to beat Oregon - That loss would help a lot. And maybe Pitt can pile on and also beat GA Tech the week after we beat Pitt (we can't lose that one!). We would be sitting pretty then.

I mentioned Pitt beating GA Tech because we would then have a comparison point (assuming ND beats Pitt) indicating us as the better team; but NC State is same and would happily take them to beat GA Tech instead. Even better, I’ll take both NC State AND Pitt to beat GA Tech!

I will say that Schmidt’s FG miss just from the naked eye didn’t look like a holder / kicker mechanics issue. It just looked like a wide left kick and a miss.

Well then if 3 different kickers so maybe holder, then like anything else, watch the hell out of film but including anything cutting edge that can hone in and compare successful vs unsuccessful kicks. Let’s get ‘er done. Can’t afford this liability for CFP.

The problem is just not CONSISTENT level of well-executed and disciplined play on O (other than Love run, stuffed a lot!), on D (undisciplined and way too many impactful - negatively - penalties!), and of course, the miserable ST kicking game! So, a TON to work on before Navy and Pitt.
