    2024 WR Coach Search

Hopefully just waiting for the end of the Oregon v. Washington game.

'23 CA WR Rico Flores (UCLA Transfer)

Not that concerned. If Rico news is true (and seems like a big if), not a single WR who has left was elite, or even very good. Each is replaceable by an equivalent player in the portal. This is CFB in 2023, just roll the punches!

'22 WA WR Tobias Merriweather (Notre Dame Signee)

As individual talents I am not that concerned about losing Tyree and Merriwhether, but aren’t they our 2 fastest WR? I think we just got real slow, real fast.

    2024 WR Coach Search

I just became a huge Oregon fan. The idea of waiting for the playoff makes me nervous.

    Chansi Stuckey - WR Coach

True, lol. But, I also think fans now realize that position coaches matter to elite prospects. They examine whether their potential position coach puts guys in the NFL first, then look at the broader program to see if they are a fit. I don’t blame them either, it’s a decision with life...

    Chansi Stuckey - WR Coach

Not really that surprising. There is a reason it’s been a hot topic around here — WRs just haven’t developed.

    2023 Transfer QB

IMO - His running ability will do more to get receivers open than anything Chansi will do this off-season — a la Ian Book. A statue like Hartman plays into the hands of the D when receivers aren’t skilled enough to get open on their own. Not saying he should be the guy, but QB mobility will...

    Coaching Carousel

Historically, it’s a dead-end, imo. Saban is legitimately the greatest coach of all time and couldn’t win 60% of his games there. Sure, they’ve had a few nice seasons, but so have Illinois, Northwestern, and Minnesota. The point is, outside of Saban, coaches who go to Michigan St. never take...

'22 NJ QB Steven Angeli (Notre Dame Signee)

I’d love for Angeli to get a fair shot, but it can’t be this year. For one, you can’t sit Hartman, you owe him every opportunity to showcase his skills for the NFL — and frankly, this staff and WR core has not delivered for him so far. Second, it’ll be a lot easier to convince the Michael...

    Coaching Carousel

For both Elko’s and Golden’s sake, I hope the each pass on MSU and Syracuse, respectively. Elko has earned the opportunity to coach at a high caliber program with real potential, MSU is a dead-end and has been for 40-years. Syracuse is essentially the Siberia of P5 opportunities and should be...

    Bowl Projections 2023

I never really thought about it, but that’s true, Alabama is the only SEC blue blood. I view CFP blue bloods as ND, Alabama, Oklahoma, USC, Michigan. Maybe Texas, maybe OSU, maybe Georgia?

Gerad Parker - Troy Head Coach :)

Agree. But, might be able to get him on the cheap now, and bring Rising in to sweeten the deal. I’d do it.

ND's Talking Heads ... The good, bad & ugly

If he got the chops then he’s got the chops, but it would smack of desperation. I don’t think there is a program in the country whose fortunes are more closely tied to optics than ND, and this would be high, HIGH risk in that regard. IMO, the next OC hire Freeman makes legitimately may...

'24 IL WR Cam Williams (Notre Dame Signee)

Really the only question mark about him is the competition level, which was not great — other than that he checks all the boxes.

    Coaching Carousel

Unless he is willing to evolve on the transfer portal, they won’t offer him.

    Coaching Carousel

It’ll be interesting to see who is on their shortlist. I have no inside info but wouldn’t be surprised if they took runs at: Franklin, Elko, MFMF, Lincoln Riley, Kliff Kingsbury.

    Marcus Freeman Revisited

I agree that they appear to be too soft. I don’t see a ton of accountability in this program. The seem more focused on making everyone comfortable and validated. It’s a double edged sword.

    Marcus Freeman Revisited

I suspect Sean Lewis will be available. We should be all over his agent right now.

    Chansi Stuckey - WR Coach

Due to his recruiting prowess I give him another year, unless there is a home run hire willing to come in. There is no development occurring, literally zero improvement in any WR — but there a plenty of confounding factors, it’s truly difficult to determine who is most at fault. If the talent...

    Marcus Freeman Revisited

Agree that MF doesn’t know football like some successful HCs do. But, I honestly believe he doesn’t need to, he can just be a culture guy. A program can win that way. ND needs to purchase an offensive coaching staff. That is the answer imo, mercenary coaches everywhere.
