Haven't had a drop. I didnt say the defense played well.

    Texas A&M Postgame

I am banking on the DL getting much better pressure against the OLs they will face going forward. The defense cannot consistently get pressure with 4 guys. Ash is choosing not to blitz as much (so your BVG comparisons are lame) and play more zone, but if you give a QB enough time he will find...

    Sept 13 | Texas A&M

They dont have a DL that can create consistent pressure with 4 guys. At least against the huge OL of Miami and TAMU.

I think ND knew that Miami's DEs are better than ND's OTs. A great way to slow down DEs is to stretch the field horizontally, i.e. screens. A great way to get your young QB some confidence on the road is easy throws, i.e. screens. A safe way to test a defense that doesnt have film showing...

If Notre Dame loses to Texas A&M, which is a real possibility as their OL strength matches up very well against ND, everyone will be asking "what is ND's signature win?" I like to think a 10-2 ND gets in, but I'm not 100% confident.

Last year the team lost to NORTHERN ILLINOIS. A MAC team came in to South Bend and absolutely bodied Notre Dame in the trenches... and then Notre Dame went to the National Championship.

So which one is it, the playcalling should have RTDB with Love, or the OL was horrendous? Because the fanbase seems to be taking both positions, which doesnt really add up IMO. I think the OL was mediocre, and Miami's Bain is a 1st round draft pick.

...they were literally stated to be the best OL in the country by an outlet or two, and top five by most. Jagusah or not, that is not going to be the case.

I think that is a spot on take. The OL was fine. He says you cant take too much out of the last series, which isnt unfair. The Irish OL played better in the second half, objectively. I personally think the media and Irish fans got too excited about the returning starters... they arent the best...

Next year they open up on the road in Green Bay against Wisconsin. Not the brightest scheduling IMO.

Wat. Did we watch the same game? ND ran man the vast majority of the time. Beck was very good and the routes they had #10 run (and everyone else, but #10 was the star) were predominantly man coverage beaters. Turns out, the Miami OL is fantastic. Their strength against ND's weakness (DTs)...

This the braindead take of someone who looks at an RB roster and thinks that wins games lol RBs run through holes. Holes have to be there.

This. I am not losing any sleep. The worst part about this loss is how fucking important Texas A&M is, because 10-2 with ND's schedule is going to be rough for playoff seeding.

Clearly Denbrock and Freeman looked at it like this: CJ Carr, in his first start, on the road, against a defense with no film to go off of, is going to get the vanilla treatment. They know Miami is going to play to take away inside run, so they throw screens to move the defense horizontally so...

    Superconferences & Realignment

USC is going to drop the ND rivalry due to the Big Ten schedule, and then Irish fans will call them pussies and deflect that the costs for independence are starting to add up.

We can have Big Ten matchups all the time if ND plays its cards right.

‘26 OH TE Preston Fryzel (Notre Dame Verbal)

Another local kid, Wymer out of Liberty Center, received an Ohio State offer. I think he camped at Notre Dame. Come on Freeman, get all these NW Ohio guys!
