Those numbers were before Saturday. Love has 20 total touchdowns, most of an P4 back. Love has 7.1 yds/a, most of any P4 back with at least 100 carries. Love has 20 total TDs, most of any power 4 player. Love has 1580 yds from scrimmage, 2nd by 2 yards of any power 4 back (on far less touches)...
I would be shocked if Love isn't a starting RB in the NFL next year. Jeez, he's so good. You can't watch this team and say its not a championship contender when they field players like Jeremiyah Love.
If the goal is to find best team, then there is nothing wrong with the current system. You dont need to go past the top 10ish teams. If the goal is to reward teams with playoff bids for successful seasons, then the bubble is always going to come with complaining and whining. Conferences will not...
Fair, I don't see them in that group. My opinion
tier 1: OSU
tier 2: IU, Georgia, TAMU, ND
tier 3: Oregon, Oklahoma, TTech, Bama, Ole Miss.
I think only that 2nd tier has a realistic shot at beating Ohio St and therefore winning a championship.
Group of 5 representative needs to have some parameters around it, like needing to be ranked in top 20. Boise was a unique G5 representative last year, masking some of the wide gaps in talent inherent in the system.
Tech is not significantly better than last year's Indiana. They are very similar actually in advanced metrics. You could argue they are marginally better but they are in the same tier of "playoff contenders but not serious title contenders."
The pundits need something to talk about and drive discussion. What better way to do it than make ND the villain against poor old Miami and Bama? This is all this is, just talking points to get fans riled up.
Hes certainly proven himself worthy of a roster spot. I still think he's one of the odd men out with a fully healthy midfield. Same goes for Gio. The player pool has never been deeper. Its a great problem to have.
