It’s possible. But, right now USC is likely our only chance for a win over a ranked team. A two loss Penn St, Oregon, Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, or Texas — to name a few — will all have stronger claims.
Unless NIU goes undefeated it probably does take us out, and it should. Losing at home to an unranked MAC school is really too much to justify. Every two-loss SEC and Big 10 school just moved ahead of us.
This is where the fails in recruiting show up. I don’t see a single player on either side of the ball that is definitively better than NIU talent. Games like this are cakewalks when you just overwhelm the opponent with talent. We can’t do that.
I feel like I am stating the obvious, but can’t we just admit that this kid is not a fit at ND? Not the right temperament, not the right game, not the right priorities. I wish him all the best, he seems like a decent — albeit very impressionable — kid who has a lot of maturing to do. You can...
I agree. To me, a flip here is meaningless other than optics. He is never going to play a meaningful down even if he comes. He may end up being a bullet dodged. Anyone know what plan B is if he flips?
I think this is the most reasonable perspective, at least for one season. Brown’s biggest problem is that he joined a staff with a ton of recruiting momentum, so falling short just makes him look like he’s doesn’t fit.
Yes, but are you practicing how to escape and evade or how to kill people. I feel like that is a distinction matters. Also, if have a sneaking suspicion that Driskell’s simulations are a fair bit more cinematic than the drills you put your family through. I see laser-cats when I picture BD...
Maybe, but it’s not a simple as that. Sure, anyone who has ever been recruited for anything has experienced pitch pressure, but few are actually persuaded unless they want to be persuaded. If kids are taking calls and visits after an OV to ND it’s because they are still open to being sold...
I’m not buying it. A few zoom calls is not gonna flip a kid who just completed an official, assuming the kid truly has ND as his favorite. I get that they are impressionable teenagers, but the aren’t complete idiots.
