Imagine firing your above average coach three months ago for not winning the big one, then literally losing your entire recruiting class, getting soaked by a Mormon and ending up stuck with the interim coach no one else had interest in hiring. That simply wouldn’t happen to me.

This is exactly what drove me insane about past staffs. There were *always* elite of the elite kids that would have fallen in love with Notre Dame if they went after them. The pool of elite kids ND just can't recruit is a real thing, but I refuse to believe it's as big as people think.

It's crazy how much the recruiting timeline has sped up from how it was back in the day. Signing Day was like Christmas with all the surprises.

I wonder how much the teams right below ND stand to gain with last second decisions. I haven't been following the national scene much.
