Been listening to these guys more and more lately.

Going to LSU for a game is an absolute must. Great people who will fill your plate, fill your cup, treat you like family, and wish you well as you depart. I do my fair share of hating on the Tigers but the people are golden.

I believe the LSU faithful are now fully convinced that they have seen the absolute ceiling of a BK coached football team. Took them a while to figure it out - good but not great coach - who will break your heart in the end.

Saban will get better as the season goes. Pretty sure his mother’s passing this week was on his mind. But he knows more about football than the rest of the panel combined. Kinda refreshing to see someone discuss the actual games instead of watching the freak show GameDay has become.

Got to see more from Texas before I am convinced they are in that upper echelon of CFB. They got a lot of questions that they got to answer first starting with their pass defense.

Depends on the situation honestly. A mediocre first year or two and the money dries up the coach is a dead man walking. I doubt most programs go all in with the money that early. Some will… see Auburn… but most of the big money guys want to know what they are investing in.

That Tenn QB is going to be a problem for teams.

Napier was done when their schedule was released. He may not make it to the brutal second half of the season stretch.

Great road win to open the season. The Irish will get better and better as the season progresses. The OL will gel and Leonard will get more and more comfortable. Things to clean up but what team after week 1 doesn’t have that? Big things ahead for the Irish.

Lane would never be successful at ND. He doesn’t like to recruit and relies too much on the portal. That won’t work in South Bend.

The towel was real. Seen a few pics of it from some HS football reporters that were at the game. I don’t read anything into a player wearing a team’s logo on something. Happens all the time and is typically intentional just to get more publicity. If Deuce doesn’t end up Irish then so be it...

I can vouch for the Aggie hospitality come game day. What they lack on the field they make up with their friendliness.

We played at Notre Dame in basketball in the old Coca-Cola NIT showcase to begin the season. I left Bowling Green, Ky and the temp was around 60 degrees. Stepped off the bus in South Bend and it was like 27 degrees. I was ready to head south for sure.

Didn't the Irish play Miami in a bowl game and the temp and wind chill was horrendous? IIRC, those Hurricanes was ready to get back on the bus before kickoff.

At one point, didn't the NCAA crack down on athletic only dorms and housing citing it as an unfair benefit because some schools had great housing while others may have not even had them? That was years and years ago so it may have changed. I don't know.

Weather does play a factor - both cold and hot. The chances of it being 20 degrees at kickoff in South Bend in December is not likely however. Probably the coldest game is the last 40-50 years was what - Navy in '91? The snow game with Penn St? Then the BYU game 10 years ago. None of them was 20...
