What what I heard Toney has been banged up dealing with an injury. Moore was honestly there second best WR and he is there only big body guy, this hurts them big time. I'm curious what our gameplan is against them, but I'd put Moore on Toney all night and put a second guy close by or over the top. Don't let Toney beat you, but at the same time we need to get pressure on their QB.

Tbh they kinda deserve it with all of the stat padding and over-use. They have starters logging snaps deep into the 4th quarter of blowouts to chase Heismans.

Their bigger issue is that they lack depth in some areas and are a couple injuries away from having a defense that is totally cooked.

They're going to run a bunch of clogged WR set ups to try to rub Moore and get Toney freed up. The best corner in the world has to navigate traffic/rubs, it creates separation. I'm not sure "Moore on him 1x1 all day" is the best move cause they're going to account for that with traffic/rubs.

Fuck 'em. They were extremely fortunate avoiding the injury bug last year. They're due.

That and finally having to travel to play some games. They played 8 home games last season and didn't leave the state until 11/1.

I saw an interesting NFL related thread about “following” a WR1. Basically said the reason we don’t do it, think it was Saleh, was that it means your field CB may need to now play slot. Your boundary CB has to flip to field. Your slot needs to know how to bump out to boundary etc. Essentially it’s not because your CB1 can’t do it. It’s because CB2 and CB3 can’t pick up the slack.

So the question becomes how able are the other 3 CBs to play other positions right now? And I think the answer is quite well. Sanders has been cross training. Gray obviously can. McKinney has plenty of boundary experience.

Cristobal got rewarded for leaving his 6th year super senior QB in to chuck bombs in the waning moments of double digit victories and I guess his takeaway was that it's a good idea to stat pad at all costs. Oregon got chastised for running up the score against Portland St. but Miami got glazed for days doing the same shit against a HBCU.

I think they are going to have more injuries before us too. I think one of their CB's could be back possibly. At Clemson, Flordia State, UNC, and Pitt won't be easy games. I'm curious what our offensive game plan is against them. Honestly I'd like to see us spread it out more and get the RB's involved in the passing game. Jet sweeps, ect. Lets hope we stay clear away from the screen game.

This is where I’m at. I get the matchup desire from all fans but do this.

It makes sense against Jeremiah Smith. But Toney moves around non stop pre snap.

There’s going to be a dozen man beater picks on every Toney route. I’d rather assign multiple people to him. 15 taking away the number 2 option allows this.

I don't think any opponents have attempted to play man against Miami. They sit back in zone and Toney just picks them apart while Mensah has all day to throw. Won't be the case against ND. And they won't have seen anything in the same universe as ND's defense before that game.
