Wow, really?

The entities that created a problem then got told they had to stop fucking people are happy when someone with the appearance of authority says, "No, it's ok. You can keep fucking people."

Never would have guessed they'd be in favor of it.
need more cheese with your whine?

The reality is that the Government can try to establish as many "pay for play" rules as they want and the Conferences can lineup to adopt them...

But all of that is completely irrelevant if there isn't a highly punitive, brutally strong, enforcement mechanism put in place to ensure that the individuals colleges, coaches and players are following the rules. The NCAA has no teeth and colleges have simply realized that they can threaten to sue, and get their way as a result, despite being in the wrong.

Unless there is a national commisioner put into place, with agreed upon powers (and a substantial budget) to enforce rules, any administrative attempts by Congress will be worthless.

Alternatively, the only other way to get the schools to back down is to have NCAA legal matters be handled by the DOJ, so that they have an unlimited budget (the taxpayers purse) to counter sue universities out of existence that try to use the threat of lawsuit to escape justice... And let's be real, nobody really wants this. That sounds like an area I don't want the Government involved in.

Wake me up not when there are rules put into place, but when there is a sufficient enforcement mechanism put into place to absolutely curb stomp any individual or university caught cheating.

so you are a constitutional lawyer? or just another TDS fool?
Every lawyer is a “constitutional lawyer” but, since you’ve asked, I’ve argued and won a case about the first amendment in a federal court of appeals so I guess I have a better claim to the title than most.

But that’s beside the point, because my question-what specific authority is Trump claiming gives him the power to tell schools how many years their athletes can play- should be legible to anyone with an eighth graders understanding of civics.

It’s funny, college fans in unison have been begging for someone to do something to fix the portal and NIL mess. He does it, acknowledges while doing it that Congress has to codify it, and everyone is like “OMG what an idiot” lol.
Trump could literally cure cancer and they would still throw a fit. I think this is a great thing personally but what do I know?

First the Jaden Ivey thread and now this. In the middle of spring practice. That’s how you know Freeman has the program running like a well-oiled machine. There’s nothing else to talk about!
Jaden Ivey it was a discussion on religion that actually seemed pretty civil.

They probably still think you killed grandma though…
Well, a friend of mine died. As did 1.2 million others in this country. More than any other country. If more people had taken the vaccine, then less people would’ve died. Fairly simple, but everything had to be political.

Every school is going to pretend they endorse this. Courts will strike it down. We proceed as normal.

There is a reason it doesn’t even challenge the portal opening for CBB in a few days

It’s obviously not that simple… US had a higher rate because the US is an overweight and unhealthy population. Health a much bigger driver in deaths than the jab.

Hate to jump into a political threads, but that vaccine has really messed up some of my loved ones. I am incredibly happy I didn't put that crap into my body. Ok. Back to your discussion.

I agree with you about health, but the “jab” (what are we, British?) still would’ve prevented needless deaths. Not to mention all the inconveniences we went through.
