Nope. The ESPN guy kept saying ND in the mix, but there was no hat that me or my fellow Irish buddy could see. We watched it live. My buddy even said, "There's not even a f*cking ND hat up there". When Darby jacked off the air with a knife hand he turned off the TV, threw down the remote, and stomped out of the room.

He also thanked all the coaches involved in his recruitment... and didn't even mention ND.

In last year's class we had Prestwood and Carlisle change their minds after the fact.
1) Do you think there is any chance of that happening again this year?
2) Who do you think would do such a thing?

Yep, lightening struck twice in the same year. Now, can you name another occurence where it happened even once at ND?

Greenberry is not coming back. While Prestwood and Amir both had ND type attitudes that you knew would fit in perfectly at ND, Benedict Greenberry does not.

And this isn't sour grapes at all. I knew that going in, and I was good with it, as long as he performed. A h.s. coach friend of mine knows the coaches in in Fresno, and he told me that Greenberry was a cocky as they come, and wasn't afraid to let everyone know how good he was. Also said he was a hardcore competitor that would do anything to get on the field (love that).

And then I listened to a USC rivals mod talk about him in December. Said he was a drama queen (basically, but not in those exact words), and that his recruitment would be filled with drama all the way to the final day. In fact, he predicted, just from what his sources said about the kid, that Greenberry would wait until the final day and shock the world by choosing a school like Oregon or something. It pissed me off at the time, but he was dead-on.

And finally, Brandon HUffman was on a podcast the day before signing day, and said that Deontay was a stud that would be bringing a different type of attitude that ND fans aren't used to seeing. The type that just HAD to get on the field, that just HAD to get the ball, and if he didn't, he was going to be pissed and let everyone know about it. Said in all-star games or camps, if he didn't get the ball on offense, he would just stay on the field, not sub out, and play defense even though he wasn't supposed to because he just had to get on the field and make something happen.

Now, when he's on your side, you call him a competitor. When he's not on your team, you call him a potential malcontent and a cancer.

Bottom line is, he's not coming 'back' to ND because he is just not that type of kid.

That sounds spot on to the kind of character he has displayed.
I honestly don't want any of our decommits.
Decker left for a position coach.
Darby and Greenfairy left for a pile of cash.
Good riddance.
(And like you said,no sour grapes. We need kids with class and integrity on our team.)
