Yeah yeah I know I know. I still think Davaris has potential and TJ will breakout, only if Kiel is playing of course

Change "emotional" to "rational." We have a class of 16 guys and lost our top 2 speed guys. 16 recruits means that Kelly better be spot on with each evaluation, because there's no room for error in a class that small. Terrible end to the cycle and raises a lot of questions.

Rational? Hahahah

Greenberry is a loss. No doubt about that. But, I was fine with 17 coming in. Have you looked at a depth chart? No?

We were going to have 18 next year. Now it's a flip.

Really gonna miss me some Decker and some Darby...

But we got a great class this year. And with a little luck, we could have a truly amazing turnaround this year.

The 2013 class is looking bright for Irish fans.

2012 signing class has all the elements we needed for a NC run. Along with 2011, we can finally notice some depth.

NC run? Really?

My only point is that this class does not bring us any closer to a NC and if you can't agree with that then you need to take the blinders off.

Thanks for that generic response. I happen to think we did pretty well at S, DL, and WR with K Russell, Chris Brown, and Ferguson. I think Davaris Daniels is excellent. I think GA III will grow into a great player with great top-end speed.

I think you need to take the blinders off and stop whining about what could have been and look at the class objectively.

Chris Brown has elite speed
Ferguson is underrated and is a baller
Tee Sheppard can shut down half a field.
Shumate/ Barratti/Prosisse give us 3 great safeties
Jarron Jones and Sheldon Day are both great Dlinemen
Romeo Okwara a great project who can be dominte
Staley, Harrell, and Prestwood give us depth at Olinemen
Russell and Mahone give us a 1-2 punch
Kiel is the #1 QB in the country

It was a good class and people are comparing it to the legendary 04 Nd class.
It's small but we have a lot of talent and potential.

We did do pretty well... but honestly, with the goals in place at ND, "pretty well" is a disappointment. Just because a response is generic doesn't mean it's not correct. ND plays a really tough schedules, doesn't oversign, and has high admissions standards... so I think our classes need to be better if we want to achieve our goals.

Flame me all you want, call me emotional, I don't really care... what I'm saying is true.

I think you're forgetting one of the best recruiters in college football runs OSU now... That pipeline is going to dry out quickly.

I understand that, I believe in this staff. Just wait a day and you will calm down.

So you'd be happier with a cupcake schedule every year, lower admission standards, and telling kids thanks but no thanks, go somewhere else if they don't pan out?

Umm.. yes? Greenberry was a higher rated WR than Floyd. And Darby was a beast of press cover corner. These are the type of players you win NCs with (see Julio Jones and Dre Kirkpatrick).

No, but considering those standards... our classes need to be better than the one we got this year.

Jalen Brown was called a stud by Michael Floyd, Atkinson and Jackson are superb athletes, and there is Sheppard island.

Absolutely false. One service, that didn't exist a few years ago during Floyd's recruitment, had Greenberry a 5-star and the rest had him as a 4-star. Floyd was a consensus 5-star.

Sigh. How does that address what I just said about Darby? You were all plugging in Darby to start next year over Brown, Atkinson, and Jackson. Wake me up for the Champs Sports Bowl next year.

And Ferguson was rated higher than Greenberry by at least one service. I don't recall people being that high on Darby's cover skills--in fact, most people here seemed to consider Poole the better cover corner (with Tee even better than that), with Darby making up for his lack in pure corner skills with his speed. Losing those guys hurts, but the fact of the matter is two 18 year old guys are not the difference between being a NC contender and not being one.

He wasn't a 5-star on ESPN

Those players bring you a lot closer to NCs than having no one in their spot and having a 5th year with Turner. Sorry but losing top national recruits at 2 positions of need is a huge long term loss.

We don't have any other receivers? No one else on the roster is as good as a senior in high school?

Would you be saying this if Darby didn't run a 4.3?

Who's rationalizing now?

Floyd was ranked higher.

Stop being a drama queen

Lol he was wrong about Floyd being a consensus 5 star... how was I rationalizing again?

I'll eat crow when Ferguson is hoisting up an MVP trophy in the 2014 BCS game.
