Ok i think he should start because of his accuracy 66.5 which set a ND record. He is a winner 12-4 which is better then Jimmy, Brady and Joe Montanas Freshmen and Sophmore years, do u want me to go on?

To be fair you also need to addres his negatives such as interceptions and fumbles though.

I could throw for 66.5% if all I was asked to do was throw short to intermediate routes to Floys and Eifert all day. As for the record, see the defensive resurgence.

Yes. Please go on. And do you think an improved defense has anything to do with this? And I don't mean to dogg tommy. I am thankful for his time here. But we NEED to move on

To be fair what percentage of those passes are screens or check downs? He also had the best receiver in school history, and one of the best pass catching tight ends. JUST SAYIN

hate arguements like yours, yes our defense was great but there is no way that you could complete that many throws (well unless you are a D1 QB) so please try to keep your arguements to reality.

So then Clausen really sucked but benefited from Tate and Floyed (two of the best rec. in ND history) and a great past catching TE in Rudolph? Come on, you can do better than that.

If anyone could do what Rees did.. Yet Hendrix and golson were still on the bench.... What does that say about golson and Hendrix? Again a lot of weak arguments here?.. Still unsure how defense helps a completion percentage?..

The tc is still the only one with any valid points here

I'm sorry you're so filled with hatred. My bad for speaking metaphorically without using italics or prefacing my statement for those who are less than keen.

I hope to see Tommy stay at ND for his entire career (wearing a red hat) and I think he will. I love having guys like him in the program. Guys who care. A starting BCS QB I personally think he is not. But I am very thankful for his time here thus far and in the future.

It could say that Kelly made a mistake and let his own stubborness get in the way of developing another QB.

Same here. Every team should have a solid fourth-string QB.

Ok so you've made your argument about why you think Tommy SHOULD start. Now....do you think Tommy WILL start?

Your right but also look at how many balls Jimmy threw deep down field given his guys a chance to make a play. Not the same offense and you should know that.

This year he played over Hendrix and Golson becasue he had game experience. Last year he played over Hendrix because the staff thought Hendrix's redshirt was worth keeping, and didn't mind burning Tommy's. That combined w/ him being an EE and knowing the playbook.

Clausen did have a 7 to 1 td to interception ratio his junior year. Would hardly say he sucked.

My point for the mentally challenged out there is how about you come up with a real arguement instead of dumb *** comments.

And Clausen had the benefit of learning from the same guy who turned Tom Brady into one of the greatest NFL QBs of all time. Can you imagine what Rees could have done, under Weis' tutelage?

Really? did you not understand the point of the post? I was showing why his arguement didn't hold water. If Rees was only good because he had Floyd and Eiffert, then what about Clausen have two great WR and a great TE (shockingly Clausen is a very good QB) but my point is do we take away from what Clausen did because of who he was throwing too? Nope, so why do it with Rees?

No I can't because I doubt he'd ever be playing over Dayne.
